Chopard Jewelry: the unforgettable floating Chopard diamonds. Floating diamonds: exclusive luxury The clarity and color of the stone

From ancient times to the present day, jewelers have come up with a lot of designs for items made of gold and silver. In this regard, it is difficult to surprise women who value jewelry with precious stones. But the Japanese jeweler Hidetaki Dobashi really succeeded.

2012, an exhibition was held in Hong Kong jewelry where master Hidetaki Dobashi demonstrated his collection of products. The dancing diamond was in the spotlight.

It was a breakthrough in jewelry!

The history and features of flickering stones

Hidetaka Dobashi is a jeweler, gemologist who specializes in rubies and sapphires. But in 2010, the master came up with an amazing idea, which was to revive the diamonds.

To make his dream come true, he needed to work more than a year... And now, June 2012, the top ten first jewelry saw the world at an exhibition in Hong Kong. But the master was in for a slight disappointment. Nobody showed any particular interest.

Three months passed and Mr. Dobashi presented his entire collection of dancing gems: 150 earrings, pendants. And then the living stones aroused great interest not only for connoisseurs precious stones, but also investors who wanted to cooperate with this jeweler. In 2013, Mr. Dobashi patented his discovery in the world of jewelry art.

At the moment, the main company offering dancing diamonds is Chopard; in Russia, such items can be purchased from the Bronnitsky Jeweler company.

This was not Hidetaka Dobashi's first invention. The cross-shaped shine of diamonds is also a discovery of this person. To do this, he correctly positioned 46 facets of the stone, thanks to which he achieved this result. In addition, he also figured out how to attach jewelry to glasses using magnets.

A feature of dancing diamonds is their ability to refract light rays within themselves and decompose them into a multifaceted color palette. This play is achieved thanks to a double-sided frame in which a pebble is placed. With the help of it, he moves slightly and the impression of a colorful dance is created.

In jewelry, for precious stones, craftsmen use the following types of frames:

Mr. Dobashi invented a completely new, but at the same time completely uncomplicated frame, thanks to which stones can dance. To do this, he used just a couple of principles:

  • the gem, in any position, does not come into contact with the body or clothing. For this, a special cover of the stone is often used, a certain part of the decoration;
  • The frame used for the attachment has two clips that hold the diamond. This enables him to hesitate at the slightest jolt, even with a heartbeat.

Despite the seeming fragility of the structure used for attaching gems, it is very durable. Quite rarely, but still there are some jewelry where a dancing diamond is attached to the product not by the Dobashi method, however, they are also called that. To do this, such stones are directly attached to the product itself, without using a frame. This can be done by, for example, using a laser to form a small hole in the stone itself. But this method spoils the gem itself very much.

The dancing diamond is mainly framed in pendants for pendants, or in earrings. There is even a Sanlight watch, which is adorned with imitating diamonds - dancing crystals. Floating diamonds were seen in the earrings of the wife of the Duke of Cambridge, Kate Middleton.

Types of stone cutting

In order for the mined diamond to shine with all its enchanting shades, it must be processed by giving it a cut. Jewelers use different types cutting of precious stones. Among them, the following are most common:

The clarity and color of the stone

For jewelry with dancing diamonds, colorless stones are mainly used, although interpretations with colored diamonds are possible. However, the cost of such stones is much higher than that of transparent ones. Also, in nature, colored diamonds are found much less than colorless ones.

It is worth noting that for jewelry with floating stones, you need to use as clear diamonds as possible in order to improve the dance of the stone. Although the more colorless and transparent a diamond is, the more expensive it is.

The clarity of a diamond is by no means a relative concept. Although personally contemplating the beauty of a diamond, one may not even guess that there may be some flaws in it. However, looking at the stone through a magnifying glass, you can really see small cracks, scratches, inclusions, impurities. It is their number on the stone that speaks of its purity. It makes sense that the purer the diamond, the better its ability to dance in the setting of the piece.

The very best dancing diamond that has a VVS1 grade with a clarity of 3 3.

It is the purity of a gem that ultimately affects its value. Purity is determined on a special scale from 1 to 12 points. The lower the value, the cleaner the stone. Therefore, when buying jewelry with dancing diamonds, it is important to pay attention to the location of the flaw on the stone. It is better not to buy stones with a defect on the site (center), as this will worsen the game of the gem. It is important to consider what setting the stone is in. Dancing diamonds pair well with white and yellow gold.

Remember, jewelry with dancing diamonds can only be worn by married women, and then only in the evening - after 17.00. In daylight, no one will appreciate the superiority of these stones, since they will look like ordinary shimmering jewelry. It is better to give preference to pearls at this time.

Due to the fact that these stones should only be worn by women with a husband, the golden rule is to buy an engagement ring with a diamond. Also, jewelry with precious stones must be properly combined with appearance: clothes, hair, manicure. Remember, a dancing diamond is a stone for special cases!

Properties of products with dancing stones

Many gemologists claim that stones can affect health. O medicinal properties diamonds have been known for a long time. On this occasion, many treatises and ancient writings were written. It is believed that diamonds help in the treatment of diseases nervous system, mental disorders.

Among such ailments:

  • depressive conditions, stress;
  • drug addiction, alcoholism;
  • sclerosis, phobias, insomnia.

There is speculation that real diamonds improve the functioning of the digestive system.

They help in the treatment of diseases of the skin, respiratory tract, musculoskeletal system (for example, in diseases of the joints), strengthen the immune system.

However, it is necessary to deal with the treatment of serious diseases in a comprehensive manner, using medications prescribed by a doctor. One thing can be said for sure that a gift to a woman with a dancing diamond will improve her mood, make her a little happier.

Before purchasing jewelry with dancing diamonds, you need to weigh the pros and cons. Some gem lovers do not like the overly expressive play of a constantly moving stone that flickers non-stop. Others are delighted with this property. Also, when buying low-quality products, a diamond can sink and suspend its glow.

In any case, if you have already bought jewelry with a dancing diamond, then with his dance of light rays, he will not only enchant the people around him, but will also make any of your images irresistible. Enjoy wearing dancing stone jewelery!

Even those who are absolutely indifferent to diamonds cannot remain indifferent at the sight of these luxurious items.

The Royal Asscher Diamond Company held a presentation in London of the Stars of Africa collection of fabulously expensive diamond jewelry. The place for the presentation was chosen appropriately - the fashionable Harrods department store.

The items in the collection are limited. So, the rings were issued in only 55 copies - after all, millionaires should not worry that they will see a similar decoration on a neighbor's hand :-)

The most attractive thing about the collection, in my opinion, is not so much the purity of the stones and their cost, but rather the non-trivial design. Small diamonds in the company of other precious stones float in a special solution, smoothly moving inside a transparent sphere with each movement.

The same principle is used in “ magic balls”That we turn over and then watch as it snows or sparkles fall.

The first Stars of Africa collection was released in 2009. The 2011 collection includes rings, earrings, pendants, bracelets and even cufflinks.

Traditionally, part of the money from the sales will be transferred to the fund to help the people of Africa.

Sapphires also "floated"

Chopard is celebrating an anniversary this year with the launch of its iconic Happy Diamonds collection. This jewelry collection it has been delighting fans of jewelry with so-called floating diamonds for over four decades.

The technology for creating "floating" diamonds was first developed by the designer Jewelry House Ronald Kurowski. It was inspired by the sparkling splendor of a mountain waterfall in the Black Forest, located in southwestern Germany. It was the sparkling drops of water floating in the air that the jeweler tried to recreate with the help of diamonds.

It was not difficult for a gifted specialist to translate the idea into action. When creating your first watch with and using new technology Ronald simply placed bezel-set diamonds (bezel instead of paws) between two sapphire crystals. So, diamonds were able to move freely in the cavity between the glasses inside the dial without threatening the hands.

Why is the collection called "Happy"? There is nothing strange here - just such a magical reaction followed from Caroline Scheufele, who headed the House of Chopard in 1963, when she was shown the first thing made using new technology... In 1976, this technique was first used in the creation of onyx jewelry watches for men. These diamonds, according to Carolina, looked quite happy in the jewelry, and all because they were free to move.

After the resounding success, women's jewelry watches were created using a similar technique. Well, then, a lot of jewelry, united in the Happy Diamonds collection, saw the light of day.

To this day, Ronald Kurowski's idea still inspires Chopard's artisans. Just this spring, the anniversary model saw the light. men's watch with floating diamonds. The novelty will be on display at the Basel exhibition until March 24th.

Diamonds are stones of extraordinary beauty that shimmer with shades of all colors of the rainbow. They are considered the best gift, of course, for dear and beloved women. But men, too, will not remain indifferent from a gift with diamonds. The most real jewelry miracle is considered to be products that are decorated with extraordinary stones - floating diamonds. This term very accurately emphasizes their somewhat non-trivial decor.

Floating diamonds are for those who value and love luxury. And they do not swim in water at all, but in a special transparent liquid, which is filled with small domes, spheres or other reservoirs. Inside there is one or even several diamonds that are not fixed there in any way. The stones move freely inside, change their location, turn over. Thanks to this, they sparkle in a new way, each time sparkling even more spectacularly and brighter. Even those who are completely indifferent to diamonds cannot remain indifferent at the sight of such luxurious and unique pieces.

Today, many jewelry companies produce items with floating diamonds, but the pioneer is "Chopard" - a reputable and very famous brand. And the history of this world famous company began more than 150 years ago. It was founded by Louis Ulysses Chopard, from whose name it got its name. He began his activity with the manufacture of watches. Such a way of jewelry design as “floating diamonds” was invented by the talented designer Ronald Kurowski. He was so inspired by the movement and brilliance of rimless diamonds that reminded him of the movement of water droplets. He wanted to perpetuate such beauty, and very soon Ronald found a way to do it. This is how a watch, decorated with floating diamonds, appeared for the first time. Soon Chopard successfully used this technology not only in watches, but also in jewelry. And floating diamonds invented by Ronald Kurowski are becoming the trademark of this brand. As for the first jewelry with floating diamonds, it was a pendant made in the form of a clown figurine, in whose belly diamonds freely moved.

The world famous "Chopard" presents original design novelties every year. The most famous collections are Chopardissimo, Happy Diamonds, Happy Spirit and Happy Hearts. But this brand also owns not new jewelry series, which remain popular and relevant even after several years. This is, for example, the wonderful Snowflake collection - a real piece of art. Its main motive is a snowflake, on the basis of which a whole snow ensemble was created. When creating this collection, in addition to diamonds, sapphires and White gold... The central exhibit here is considered to be a lace necklace made of "snow" flakes, inlaid with diamonds. Latest collections presented by Chopard jewelers are: "Les Chaines", "Ice Cube", "Animal World", "Chopardissimo". The assortment of Chopard jewelry products is huge, but some thematic collections can be distinguished: the sports series "Gstaad", luxury collection"Pushkin" and others.

Floating diamonds are a huge success, but not all companies can handle this technology in practice. Therefore, the most expensive floating diamond jewelry is Choprad jewelry. Their cost is not affordable for everyone, but you can always find a more budgetary option in other jewelry companies.

At the end of the 20th century, Chopard decided to move away from the narrow specialization of watchmaking and focus on the creation of designer jewelry. As a result, a multitude of Chopard jewelery options were presented to the public, reflecting all the luxury, grace and richness of Swiss jewelery tradition.

How it all began

Remembering the history of the brand, it is worth noting that it is Caroline Scheufele who is credited with the idea of releasing branded jewelry. At first, the first collections did not stand out in anything special. They were mostly implicit copies of French products. But over time, Carolina, together with professional cutters and designers, begins to implement new interesting ideas, and products from Chopar are beginning to be recognizable and in demand.

After a dizzying success with watches, Chopard begins to use the technology of "floating" diamonds and jewelry... Soon, this technique, invented by the talented designer Ronald Kurowski, became business card of this brand, and bracelets with small, chaotically scattered precious stones open a new page in the history of the jewelry house.

Most popular collections

Every year the multi-brand Chopard company pleases us with new and unique design solutions. But there are collections that remain just as relevant and popular after a few years. Such works of art include a delicate and beautiful set - Snowflake, the main artistic motive of which was white snowflake... The company claims that they were inspired to create such a “snowy” ensemble by the snowfall, when snowflakes swirled beautifully in a white waltz. In addition to diamonds, white gold and sapphires were used to create Snowflake. The central exhibit of this collection - an openwork necklace - is made of "snow" flakes, which are inlaid with precious stones.

We especially love the Pushkin collection, presented back in 1999. Its main idea was the Russian traditions of the times of the great writer. Almost "antique" jewelry in the style of romanticism, an abundance of intricate details and patterns, a kind of cut have pleased many connoisseurs of Russian culture.

In 2010, in celebration of its 150th anniversary, jewelry company Chopard presents another great collection. It is based on fashionable animalistic motives. As a result, the world saw 150 unsurpassed jewelry copies of fish, birds, insects and reptiles. These small masterpieces are made of multi-colored gold, decorated with various stones. The collection has received a series of top accolades and awards.

New for 2013

The style of jewelry Chopard (Chopard) in 2013 can be described as austere luxury of minimalism. In addition, many decorations are made in everyday casual style... Earrings, pendants and pendants from Chopard amaze with their precision and laconism in tandem with precious metals and precious stones.

Throughout 2013, Chopard jewelers presented several “fresh” collections to the female half of the population: Ice Cube, Chopardissimo, Les Chaines, Happy Spirit, Animal World, Happy Diamonds, Happy Hearts. Some of them have already been developed before, such as Animal World, while others are presented for the first time. In general, preference was given to pieces with clear diamonds in beautiful white, rose and yellow gold frames.

Happy Hearts jewelry draws attention with the play of diamonds in tandem with gold and silver. Happy Hearts was released specifically for Valentine's Day. They represent several options for pendants, earrings, necklaces and bracelets with branded hearts.

Jewelry from the Chopardissimo line is earrings, pendants and pendants that are adorned with Chopard's signature engraving. Lovers of unusual solutions liked the brooches with animalistic ideas from the Animal World collection.
