How is it done

I will tell you several ways to make flowers. I must say right away that the methods are basic, on their basis you can make any other flowers that are visually similar to those described by me. By the way, I advise you to try to make fantasy compositions without trying to embody any living flowers - this way you can better feel the technique and its features.

Preparation for manufacturing

So where do we start preparing? What will it take to work? Write down:

ribbons of different widths and different colors, I prefer satin ones, they look very elegant;
good sharp scissors (I have ordinary tailors);
needles and threads of different thicknesses;
glue gun and a few sticks of transparent glue;
a pair of tweezers (those for eyebrows will do, but it's better to get a good one if you are going to make flowers seriously).

In addition to this, you will also need - beads and centers for flowers, sequins and fishing line, a floral sleeve and much more that was lying around in your basket for needlework.

I prefer to work at a clean desk under a table lamp, and I advise you to prepare your workplace- remove all unnecessary, adjust the light.

Kanzashi

My first acquaintance with flowers took place just when I came to the kanzashi master class. This mk became my starting point, and I am grateful to the girls who, in just a few hours, taught me and a bunch of girls to make stunning kanzashi flowers from a narrow ribbon, gorgeous kanzashi from satin ribbons of wider width, and gave deep ideas about this technique and its possibilities.

What is Kanzashi? This is the art of decorating hairpins that came to us from Japan. The next method of making flowers from satin ribbons is suitable for those who want to make a large composition at once, for example, I used this technique to make a basket with flowers for my mother's anniversary. However, there are some nuances:

melted petals look less neat than kanzashi, so you should not use these flowers next to a strict outfit;
be prepared for something that does not work out right away;
not every tape is suitable for making these flowers, it turns out only empirically.

For making, both satin ribbons and ordinary nylon ribbons (in the manner of children's bows) are suitable.

Step-by-step instruction

Cut out a pattern in the shape of a plump half-heart from cardboard (as in the photo below).
We cut out the petals (you have to tinker) - at least 6 large pieces and the same amount smaller and even less, you can double each size.
Each petal needs to be processed with fire - the edge will stick together a little, and the petal will become voluminous.
Then the petals are collected on the central thread, arrange them symmetrically, with a slight overlap, so that the flower looks voluminous, and best of all, collect in a checkerboard pattern (see photo below).

Very simple and at the same time expressive fabric flowers can be made in just a few minutes. If you have never tried to make flowers from ribbons, then you will definitely succeed with this micron.

How to make flowers in five minutes?

Cut the tape into 5-10 cm pieces. You can take identical pieces, or you can use segments different lengths then the flowers will be more natural.

Place the template on the tape and cut out the number of petals as needed. To speed up the cutting process, fold the tape several times, but do not use pins as they may leave marks on the satin. Better to use paper clips. You should get 6 petals. Do not worry if they turned out not all perfectly even, after burning, all the imperfections will disappear.

Now make another petal pattern out of paper, while it should be 0.5 cm smaller than the previous one. Cut 6 more petals.

After that, further reduce the pattern to cut out the 6 smallest petals.
Start burning. You can use a candle or lighter for this. When the edge of the ribbon starts to melt slightly, pull it lightly to make it a little wavy.
Shape the petals accordingly. To do this, take the part with tweezers and hold it at a short distance from the flame. After the petal changes shape, remove it from the fire, otherwise it may catch on fire.

Collecting rose petals into a flower

You can collect a flower in a circle or in a checkerboard pattern, it all depends on your personal preferences. Fold the petals and sew them with a needle and thread. After the first petals are sewn, insert the stamens into the center and secure them with thread.

Sew the remaining rows of petals and combine them into a single flower.
To make the leaves, take about 10 cm of green tape and burn the ends to keep it from falling apart. Fold the corners to the middle, and sew from the bottom with a basting seam. Now pull off the thread so that the ends of the leaf connect. The ends of the tape can be sewn with a blind seam. The leaf is ready.

Now glue the leaves and the flower itself with hot glue on the felt circle. To make a brooch from a flower, glue the pin from the wrong side to the felt.

Sew a loose stitch along the bottom with strong thread. And then tighten each segment, forming a petal. Next, collect a flower from the finished petals: fix small segments in the center, and large ones closer to the edges. Glue the button in the center.

You can decorate the flowers with white narrow ribbons, for example, make stamens out of them. Finally, fold the collected flowers into a composition and attach to the base using a glue gun.
