This next Sunday, November 26, is Mother's Day. Of course, on this day everyone dreams of hearing from their child nice words gratitude and love. But Tatyana Sorokina lives in the Rostov region, and on this day a woman will surely hear not a dozen of congratulations. "The most mother of many children Russia ”raised 80 (!) Children in her life. This year, despite her 66 years old, she sheltered five more. They say about her - a mother with a heart of gold, and she simply does not refuse to help anyone.

"TAKE FROM THE CHILDREN'S TO THE FAMILY, AND THEN RETURN BACK"

Now 16 schoolchildren live in my house, one student, - Tatiana Vasilievna told the newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda-Rostov.- I took the last five this year. Three boys from Irkutsk saw me on a program from Alexander Gordon and asked for a family from orphanage... I thought they would refuse. But the guys begged the officials and already in May they settled in my house. Two more were asked to take the local guardianship authorities. And one, and the second were first taken foster families, and then returned back. To be honest with such stories, my heart breaks.

And Tatyana Vasilievna tells the story of six-year-old Kolya, whom the adoptive mother and father abandoned because of the endless tantrums that the child was arranging.

And yesterday in the kindergarten there was a holiday in honor of Mother's Day and a concert to which parents were also invited - continues the interlocutor... - The teachers were surprised: where did the tantrums go? Now Kolya is an obedient and talented child. And the reason for their absence is the same - you need an approach to any child, each of us wants to be loved.

The 13-year-old newcomer of the Sasha family from Bataysk has a similar story. In August of this year, he was also returned to the orphanage, as if an unnecessary thing. The boy was taken as a friend for his own son, but the guys did not get along with each other. For adoptive parents the choice was obvious.

HANDS OF ROSES AND OWN HAND CARDS

Mother's Day in the Sorokin family is a holiday that is celebrated on a grand scale. Already in the morning, Tatyana Vasilyevna's phone does not stop for a minute, and messages are pouring into Odnoklassniki one after another.

Usually, children prepare something special on this day - a concert, a table is set and gifts are made with their own hands, - Sorokina tells... - Well, I don't like purchased ones: when the pictures are stamped and the words are dry store-bought. It is important for me that the child does it himself, from the heart. Even with mistakes, but with love.

The first snow fell on the Don. Well, how can you not play snowballs. Photo: Tatiana Sorokina's Odnoklassniki page.

But the most memorable gift from Tatyana Vasilievna was several years ago. One of her sons, Vladimir, decided to give his mother fifty roses. I saved up money for a long time, made an agreement with a local flower girl, borrowed some part. As a result, he presented a bouquet. True, then my mother had to take the rap for him: to pay the missing amount, since the fervor of the sons quickly ended.

But the mother is not offended by her son.

With all my heart I wanted, even if not everything worked out, - she smiles affectionately.

Family trips are always a highlight. Photo: Tatiana Sorokina's Odnoklassniki page.

"HAPPINESS IS IN LOVE"

Older children are now helping a mother with many children to manage the children. In the summer, everyone went to the sea together, then to Moscow. Trips could be more frequent - to a park, a zoo, a dolphinarium or a theater, but they cannot help with a car, where the whole family would fit. Not found good person, ready to help with this issue. Although this is their old dream.

In general, a holiday is not a holiday, your mouth is full of worries. During our conversation, Tatyana Vasilyevna was already rushing to school for a "showdown" - the sons did not share something with their classmates.

Well these are children - waving hand to Sorokin... - They quarrel, reconcile ... The main thing is to be alive and well.

Everybody loves summer. Photo: Tatiana Sorokina's Odnoklassniki page.

At these words, tears welling up in the eyes of the woman. It turned out that Tatyana Vasilyevna has a sadness that greatly darkens the holiday - the other day, her son, 43-year-old Vasily, was diagnosed with a terrible diagnosis of “brain atrophy” by doctors. As a child, he was diagnosed with a genetic disease, and at the age of nine he went blind.

That is why I did not dare to give birth anymore, although I love children very much, - she says thoughtfully.- Probably, that's why I have so many of them. Happiness is in love. Give it as long as there is such an opportunity, and then everything will be fine for everyone.

Ecology of cognition: Stories about the largest mothers in the world are especially relevant today, when even one child is a luxury for many, and women give birth less and less: if in the 1950s

The stories about the largest mothers in the world are especially relevant today, when even one child is a luxury for many, and women give birth less and less: if in the 1950s the total share of children per woman was 4.95, now it has dropped to 2.36 ... Scientists note that the so-called demographic and economic paradox affects the birth rate: the higher the standard of living in a family, the fewer children in this family are likely to be born.

For example, the lowest fertility rate today is in Singapore (the country with one of the highest GDP in the world), where women have an average of 0.8 children. At the same time, in Nigeria (where GDP, respectively, is one of the lowest), this figure is 7.6! While such a large number of children can be shocking, it should be borne in mind that big family is still characteristic of many cultures, and if we are talking about an agrarian society, then a large number of children means a large number of hands.

We have collected facts about 10 women with many children, whose stories seem fantastic today. So, let's get acquainted with ten mothers of the largest number of children in the world.

10. Mrs. Harrison - 35 children

Not much is known about Mrs. Harrison (history has not even preserved her name), it is only known that she lived almost her entire life in London. As John Mockett wrote about her in his magazine (author of a publication devoted to entertaining stories and gossip), Mrs. Harrison gave birth to her 35th child in 1736. It is not known how many of these children survived to adulthood; the number of births Mrs. Harrison went through is also unknown. However, the very fact that a mother with many children managed to survive at a time when the death of a woman during childbirth was quite common is certainly striking.

9. Elizabeth Greenhill - 39 children

Thomas Greenhill was a well-known English surgeon. In addition, he was actively involved in the study of embalming and even published the book "The Art of Embalming" - despite the fact that in those days this practice of burial was just beginning to be applied. Thomas was the youngest of 39 children born to Elizabeth and William Greenhill. It is noteworthy that Elizabeth had twins only twice - which means that there were 37 births in her life!

8. Alice Hooks - 41 children

For everything we know about Alice Hooks, we owe the inscriptions on the grave of her son in Wales: a small tombstone says that Nicholas, who died in 1637, was the 41st child of Alice Hooks. We don't know anything more about the heroic Alice - neither who she was, nor how poor or wealthy her life was.

7. Elizabeth Mott - 42 children

A native of the English village of Mox Kirby, Elizabeth Mott married John Mott in 1676 and became the mother of a huge family. It is only known that all her pregnancies were successful and all 42 children were born healthy, but whether all children managed to reach adulthood, we do not know.

6. Maddalena Garnet - 52 children

Maddalena Granata, born in Italy in 1839, is rumored to have given birth to 52 children and was quite famous in her day. In Italy, the phrase “the Pomegranate case” even went around, meaning a family with a large number of children.

5. Barbara Stratzman - 53 children

Born in Germany in 1448, Barbara Stratzmann became famous for being the mother of 53 children. By the age of 50, she managed to give birth 29 times: 5 times she had twins, 4 times - triplets, 6 times the number of babies born at the same time was 6, and once even 7! 19 out of 53 children were born dead, which, however, was not uncommon for the 15th century. However, all the other 34 children grew up safely, reaching adulthood.

4. Leontina Albina - 55 children

Leontina Albina was born in Chile in 1926 and holds the record for the number of births. The total number of her children was 64, while the birth of 55 was documented - however, this was quite typical for Chile at that time. According to information received from her husband, 11 of Leontina's children died in the earthquake, and only 40 children reached adulthood.

3. Peasant Kirillova - 57 children

The Russian peasant woman Kirillova (her name remains unknown) lived in the village of Vvedenskoye and during her life managed to give birth to 57 children - and as a result of only 21 births: 10 times she had twins, 7 times - triplets, and 4 times 4 babies were born at once. Since little information is known about the Kirillova family, there have been suggestions that her story is embellished. However, later the number of children was confirmed by the documents found: for example, in 1755, the entire Kirillov family, including 57 children, was present at one court session.

2. Mrs. Gravata - 62 children

The Gravata case continued in 1923, when Italian newspapers wrote about a Palermo woman who became a mother for the 62nd time. Her name was a coincidence! - Rosa Gravata (née Rosa Salemi). She had two triplets, one with four babies, one with five and one with six. All 62 children were born healthy, although it is not known whether they managed to reach adulthood.

1. Peasant Vasilyeva - 69 children

The rating of mothers with many children is proudly crowned by our compatriot - the Russian peasant woman Vasilyeva, who, thanks to her fertility, got into the Guinness Book of Records. Little is known about her: she was a peasant, lived in Shuya in the 18th century and gave birth to as many as 69 children in her lifetime! Such incredible offspring resulted from 27 births from 1725 to 1765. 16 times Vasilyeva had twins, 7 times - triplets, and 4 times there were four children. It is even more incredible that almost all the children born to Vasilyeva survived (only two died). I wonder if this incredible record will ever be broken? published by

The family is the unit of society, its foundation. Everything that happens inside it reflects on society, since the latter is formed by hundreds of thousands, millions of such cells. In this article, we compose unusual list the most prolific marriage unions and find out about the most large families in the world (and in history). I wonder who was not afraid of a large number of descendants and a large-scale continuation of their kind? Let's start our top ten "Largest Families in the World".

Vasilievs from Russia

In the 18th century, this family set a world record. Until now, no one has beaten him. The huge family of Vasilievs from the Shuisky district opens our top-list "The largest families in the world." The wife of the peasant Vasiliev gave birth to 69 children! And so many descendants were born in just 40 years life together... How is this possible ?! This is explained by several multiple pregnancies of a peasant woman: 4 children were born 4 times, triplets appeared 7 times, 16 cases when twins came to this family. After the death of his first wife, the peasant Vasiliev married a second time - from this marriage 18 more children were born. As a result, he turned out to be the father of 87 children.

Leontines from Chile

Our list of “The Largest Families in the World” is represented by the next Chilean couple of prolific Leontin parents. At the beginning of the 20th century, the 64th child was born in a friendly and large family. However, only 55 children were officially registered. This is not surprising or suspicious, as this situation with "unofficial" offspring is quite common in Chile.

Gravata from Italy

Around the same time, in the twenties of the XX century, the 62nd baby was born in the Gravata family in Palermo. Throughout her life, mother Rosa gave birth to one gear, fives, fours and twice triplets, the rest of the births brought one child at a time.

Kirillovs from Russia

And again a couple with many children from Russia! In the 18th century, the peasant family of Yakov Kirillov lived and became famous on the territory of our country in the village of Vvedenskoye. He continues our list of "The largest families in the world." In total, the peasant had 72 children in his 60s. The first wife gave birth to 57 children, and 15 - the second. It was for these successes that Yakov Kirillov was noted at the court of Catherine II.

Pomegranate from Italy

Italy is not lagging behind either! Another large family abroad by the name of Granata continues our top list. In 1832, their 52nd child was born in a row.

Mott from UK

The Englishmen Elizabeth and John Mott entered into a marriage alliance in 1676. They did not have to regret this decision. As a result of their family life 42 healthy children were born.

Greenhill from UK

Another English couple The Greenhill spouses, who lived in Great Britain in the 17th century, gave birth to 39 children. And so we got on our unusual prolific list.

Daad Mohamed al-Balushi from the UAE

In the United Arab Emirates, in 2012, the 94th child was born to the huge family of Daad Mohamed al-Balushi. Despite such a number of children, this prolific father is not in the first place due to the fact that such a large number of children was provided to him by 18 wives, who successively replace each other after a divorce. According to Sharia law, a man could have 4 official wives at the same time. However, due to its large offspring, it continues our top list of "The Largest Families in the World".

Zion Khan from Indonesia

Today, in the Indian village, such views of Daad Mohamed al-Balushi are shared by Zion Khan, the founder of the sect, who, according to the laws of his religious cell, can have an unlimited number of wives. His large family lives in a modest one-hundred-room house: 38 women of Zion live there, who gave birth to their husband a total of 94 children. The father of many children does not want to stop at this and intends to continue his family.

Moulay from Morocco

In the 18th century, Morocco was ruled by the cruel Sultan Moulay Ismail, the owner of hundreds of wives and concubines. The Guinness Book of Records reflected on its pages the following figures: the sultan gave birth to 700 boys and 342 girls. However, according to historical records, half of the children born from concubines were not officially registered. The information reflects that every 4 days in the life of Moulay Ismail his child was born. Be that as it may, he is the most father of many children in the world, and his many thousands of relationship with wives and children is the largest large family in the world in all history, albeit in an unusual sense for us of this word(for us, marriage is a mono-union).

Large families in the past

Long ago it was believed that a family should be large and large - it is easier to live together in big world... When everyone fulfills their duties, things go faster and more conveniently. The craft (and this is training) and doing business in the world (society) was passed on from grandfathers and father to sons and grandchildren, and housekeeping and all women's everyday wisdom wandered from grandmothers and mothers to daughters and granddaughters. This is how the transfer of knowledge, skills and abilities proceeded, the culture was absorbed. The upbringing and education of the younger ones (through work, by their own example, mutual assistance, through communication with each other) took place interactively, right before our eyes. It did not depend on the strata of the population. Those who had the opportunity to receive education from other teachers and professionals, they undoubtedly received it, but it was additional, developing, expanding the boundaries of the knowledge that was already there. The development of generations went approximately in this way.

Large families these days

Over time, everything has changed: social conditions, social attitudes and demographic outlook. Now in Russia, a family with three children and more is considered a large family. Not everyone decides on such a number of children. It would be more correct to say that very few people decide. Large families in Russia are only 7-9 percent of all existing ones. This situation is a reflection of many social factors: an insufficient amount of earned finances, and a deterioration of the environment, which affects the health of women and men in reproductive age, and working on an equal basis with men, instead of doing housework and raising children at home, as well as the emergence of a negative attitude towards large families.

With regard to our topic, you can probably dwell a little more on the last factor... For what reason has a negative attitude towards large families formed in society? The fact is that in recent decades, such “cells of society” have been mistakenly associated with disadvantaged ones. This happened due to the loss of some representatives of the moral and moral character and due to the lack of upbringing. Such couples, giving birth to children, are not involved in their upbringing and development (often find themselves later without the participation and help of the second parent). Sometimes a large number of children can even be explained by the existing benefits (for the purpose of support, the state allocates special subsidies to large families). Such a child, of course, having an unfavorable example before his eyes, as a rule, repeats it in his life.

However, it is wrong to judge a whole category of large families by individual disadvantaged representatives. But in order for a shift in the perception of society to take place, again successful examples are needed in the upbringing and overcoming of common everyday difficulties by large families, and this is not a quick matter, a matter of an entire era.

V modern Russia families with three or more children cause surprise, bewilderment and even sympathy for many. But the most famous large families in history are Russian.

The largest family in history

So, let's begin. Today, the most famous large family is Jim Bob Duggar and his wife Michelle. They gave birth to 19 children. An interesting fact is that the names of all children begin with the letter J. The family lives far from big cities, does not use the services of kindergartens and schools. Children are home schooled. The house has clear rules: the father makes a list of things to do, distributes them among the children. Everyone fulfills their duties and a certain time is allocated for this. The Duggars are a family team.

One of the American TV channels even has a program dedicated to the Duggar family "19 Kids and Counting".

Another famous large family is the family of the Irish brewer Arthur Guinness. Arthur and his wife Olivia Whitmore had 21 children, three of whom became brewers and continued their father's business. The Guinness beer brand is known all over the world

The largest family in Russia

Let's return from foreign trips to our native lands, because the largest family in the world, which is listed in the Guinness Book of Records, lives in Russia - the Shishkin family from the Voronezh region. Alexander and Elena have 20 own children, 9 sons and 11 daughters. Although, many years ago, doctors said that there could be problems with the appearance of children. Elena has a negative Rh factor, and Alexander has a positive one, which is not very conducive to motherhood, especially having many children.

The family lives in a large house, which they built many years ago on their own. The house is always impeccable cleanliness and order. Older children help their parents with housework and take care of the kids. Now there are 10 children left with their parents, the rest have grown up and dispersed to different cities. The youngest daughter is 10 years old, and the oldest son is 35. He is the father of five children, all in all, the Shishkins already have 23 grandchildren.

The largest father in the world

Now let's talk about the most prolific fathers known to mankind. The most-most large father in the world lives today in the UAE. Daad Mohammed al-Balushi is approaching his life goal of having 100 children.

In 2012, his ninety-fourth child was born. For the first time, Daad married in 1967 at the age of 19, since then he has had 18 companions in life. According to the Sharia Law, a man can be married to four women at the same time, which Daad successfully used. The man is proud that he was able to adequately provide for all his wives and offspring. Each of his wives has a home, a car, and financial assistance. This is largely possible thanks to the help of local sheikhs who support the "super-dad", as local media dubbed Daad, in his desire to become the father of hundreds of children.

"Super Dad" also wants to enter the Guinness Book of Records. Today, the sultan of Morocco Moulay Ismail of the first half of the 18th century is considered the largest father in world history. According to the Guinness Book of Records, he gave birth to at least 342 girls and 700 boys.

Still, the large number of children in countries where polygamy is allowed is not as striking to our imagination as in monogamous families. So, for example, the peasant Yakov Kirillov was recognized as the most large father in the history of Russia. The first wife bore him 57 children, the second another 15. In total, he was the father of 72 children from two consecutive marriages. In this regard, at the age of 60, he was presented to the court.

The largest mother in the world

Of course, we cannot ignore the most heroic women - mothers with many children. So, England, XVII century. Elizabeth Greenhill gave birth to 39 children. She gave birth to a record number of times: 37 births, one child and one twins. Elizabeth insisted that if her husband William Greenhill had not died, she would have given birth to two or three more children. The woman had 32 daughters and 7 sons. In the history of mankind, Elizabeth is the undisputed "champion" in the number of births.

Another mother with many children is Chilean Leontina Albina. She gave birth to 55 children, and as a result of the first five pregnancies, she gave birth to triplets and only boys.

The most large mother in history is our compatriot, the peasant Vasilyeva from the Shuisky district. Unfortunately, the name of the heroine mother has not survived in history. It is known that she gave birth to 69 children, all pregnancies were multiple. Vasilieva gave birth to twins 16 times, triplets 7 times and quadruples 4 times. She holds the record for multiple pregnancies... A surprising fact for that time was that only two children died in infancy, 67 survived to adulthood.

V different time, v different countries there are families who are not afraid to give life to a large number of children. And do not look at the external circumstances and life difficulties.

But the youngest mothers do not always become large. According to the website, there is a girl in China who gave birth at the age of 9, but there are mothers who gave birth even earlier.

The largest mother on earth, Mariam Nabatanzi from Uganda, gave birth to 44 children by the age of 36. A woman suffers from a rare genetic disorder in which she always has more than one child.

She had her first twins at the age of 13, a year after she married a man 28 years her senior. Then she gave birth to twins five times, triplets four times and quadruplets five times. Already at 23, she had 25 children and she asked doctors to somehow stop it. The doctors found out that contraceptives would not help her because of the innate characteristics of the body.

Dr. Charles Kiggundu, a gynecologist at Mulago Hospital in Kampala, Uganda, noted that a genetic predisposition to hyperovulation, in which a woman always matures several eggs per cycle, is a very rare condition.

Now doctors were able to take measures to eliminate the risk of another pregnancy for a mother with many children, and performed an operation to ligate the fallopian tubes.

“I grew up in tears. My whole life has been spent caring for children and working to support them,” she said, saying that she originally wanted to have no more than six children.

Her husband left her after the last birth, which ended with the death of one of the twins three years ago. Now she single-handedly takes care of all her children, who live with her in four small houses.
