We make a snowman with our own hands. Crafts from different materials

Not always a keen desire to make a snowman coincides with frosty weather and the presence of snow on the street. But everything is fixable. Handmade lovers and masters have come up with a great variety of ways to cheer themselves up and create with their own hands not only these invariable attributes of New Year's holidays, but also a winter mood.

It is best to start a career as a sculptor of snowmen from scrap materials by testing the simplest options. Be patient, call the children for help and get ready to spend your time in a fun, interesting and useful way. Go!

At the very beginning of our "snow" selection, we decided to tell you how to make a snowman from a sock. This is the easiest and easiest way, there is simply no way to go wrong. Whatever and how you do it, it will always turn out right.

To make our handsome man, you will need to stock up on a sock that you don’t mind donating to a good cause. Instead, you can look for dense children's tights (cotton or terry) or stockings. Also take beads or buttons for the eyes and nose; a small piece of cloth for a scarf will not be superfluous. Use rice as a filler.

By the way, it is not necessary to make the craft white. Unleash your creativity: the striped snowman is cool and unusual.

And this is Olaf - a cartoon character also from a sock:

Composition "Family of snowmen"

If you have been given enough time for crafts to school or for kindergarten, you can implement more complex options. We invite you to breathe life into a fabulous family of snowmen.

First of all, prepare a thick cardboard box of a suitable size for work. Paste it over with white paper, paint a winter landscape on the inside with paints. It is convenient to do this with a piece of foam rubber or an ordinary kitchen sponge.

Now you can move on to the main heroes of the occasion. Cut out patterns of three snowmen from thick cardboard: parents and their baby. Impregnating cotton wool with PVA glue, form convex bodies on the cardboard. It is better to do this in several stages, so that the layers have time to dry.

Roll up small cotton cones. These are carrots - the future noses of snowmen. Grease them generously with glue and glue the noses of our heroes.

Paint the dried blanks with white acrylic paint or gouache, draw the eyes and mouths.

Now you need a wire. From three small sections, make the snowmen arms.

Glue the wire to the back of the workpieces. To securely fix it, glue pieces of white cloth on top.

Work on the skins of the snowmen. Tie them with scarves and mittens. For these accessories, use felt, fleece, or just a cleaning cloth (dishcloth).

For each mitten, cut out two pieces and glue them together on a wire arm.

The snowmen will stand with the help of cardboard supports. Cut three rectangles out of heavy cardboard and fold them as shown in the photo. Glue the supports to the backs of the snowmen.

Cut a sled out of cardboard. Bend the runners with it. Paint with paint if desired.

Glue a small colored cardboard box and fill it with colored beads. Cut a herringbone out of cardboard, foamiran or felt and glue it to a wooden skewer. You can "decorate" the tree with half-beads or beads.

It's time to put the family in a box. Glue the snowmen to the frame, lubricating the bottom of the supports with glue. Glue the rest of the composition in place. For more realism, make snowdrifts from PVA-impregnated cotton wool. Paint completely dry "snow" with white paint.

You can complement the work with beads and other small decorative elements. The stunning New Year's diorama is ready. From her and breathes festive mood and frosty freshness.

Openwork snowman made of threads and balls

We suggest you master another way to create a New Year's decor - a snowman made of threads and glue. Such crafts look very impressive, and the basis for the future masterpiece is a simple balloon.

For work, it is best to use PVA M (furniture) glue, ordinary stationery does not hold its shape well. Take the balls from dense rubber, wrap them with cling film and grease with a thin layer of vegetable oil. This will greatly facilitate the work of removing them from the dried fishnet balls.

Note that you should not wrap the base of balls too tightly with threads so that they do not burst during work or drying the product.

There is nothing complicated in this technique, but it takes at least a day for the threads to dry completely. Therefore, if you have strictly limited time for creativity, it is better to choose a faster version of making crafts.

Funny snowmen made of fabric and cotton wool

If you have white fabric, cotton wool and some free time in stock, then you can safely start creating handmade gifts for the New Year. Cool snowmen will definitely cheer you up and bring a lot of positive things into your home. And the very process of working on them will become a real relaxation and a pleasant pastime with the kids.

For work you will need:

  • white calico;
  • white threads;
  • glue gun;
  • PVA glue;
  • scissors;
  • twigs for pens.

Roll three dense balls of different sizes out of cotton wool. Wrap the cotton balls tightly with thread to keep them in shape.

Wrap the threads on top with cotton or white wool so that they do not show through under the fabric at the next stage. Wrap the workpiece in coarse calico and tie the loose edges tightly with threads. Prepare the rest of the balls using this scheme.

Cut the excess fabric as close to the ball as possible, brush the cut a little with glue and let it dry.

For the toy to be stable, it will need a stand. To do this, cut a circle out of thick cardboard that matches the size of the largest ball. Cover it with calico.

Using a glue gun, glue the cardboard stand to the bottom of the large ball (from the side of the cut). For reliability, you can additionally sew the stand to the body.

Glue the middle ball to the larger one with the tail down; it is also advisable to sew it on. Glue and sew the head, placing the ball tail back... We will hide it under the hat, and the front part will be without folds.

Pierce the arm attachment points with an awl. Use a glue gun to glue the twig handles.

Don't forget to give the snowman a nose. Cut a triangle out of a piece of orange cloth or cardboard, roll it into a cone and glue it. Use a marker or paint to paint the eyes and mouth.

Our funny snowman has already "come to life". Complete it with fashionable accessories of your choice - a great DIY winter gift is ready.

Cheerful papier-mâché snowman

Did you know that a great gift for those close to the New Year can even be made from toilet paper? We are not joking, but we are absolutely seriously trying to convince you of this. If you haven't guessed yet, this is papier-mâché.

It is in this technique that we propose you to make the cutest snowman. Call the kids - and let's get started!

For work you will need:

  • roll of toilet paper;
  • PVA glue;
  • gouache or acrylic paints;
  • brushes;
  • cardboard;
  • scissors;
  • material for the scarf.

Tear about half of the paper roll into small pieces. Young assistants will be happy to do this responsible occupation. For this business, you can take ordinary paper napkins.

Add a little PVA glue to the scraps of paper. Mix paper with glue until a homogeneous viscous mass is obtained. If it turns out to be too thick, drip water, thicken the liquid mass by adding starch or flour (very little of them are needed).

Roll three balls of different sizes out of paper pulp - a snowman frame. Leave the blanks to dry in a warm place. It will take not less than a day... The exact drying time for papier-mâché also depends on the humidity and temperature in the room. Glue the dried balls with PVA or a glue gun.

We do not recommend making the workpieces very bulky, so that the drying process does not drag on for a long time. If, according to your idea, the craft should be large enough, inside each ball from papier mache place tight foil ball... It will serve as the basis for the increase in volume.

Cut out a stand for a snowman from a piece of thick cardboard so that it can stand on its legs.

Glue it to the bottom of the product. Form the legs out of cotton wool and glue to the stand.

With a brush, alternately brush over small areas of the snowman's surface and glue them with a thin layer of cotton wool. This is how a snowman "packed" in cotton wool looks like.

Cut out his arms from thick cardboard.

Roll a toilet paper cone, fix it with glue. Color the resulting details to your liking, not forgetting to be realistic.

Glue the nose to the toy. The arms will be easier to attach using cotton wool pieces.

Paint the snowman white. Draw his eyes, mouth and buttons, tie a scarf. Our handsome paper man is ready to win hearts.

And if you don't glue it over with cotton, but paint the paper right away, it will come out like this:

Video master classes

If you persistently think that it is better to see once than read and see a photo a hundred times, we have great news for you. We have selected three video tutorials, thanks to which you will learn how to make a snowman with your own hands.

Cotton wool snowman

To create this little masterpiece, you will need cotton wool, water, soap, a glue gun and a desire to create. It is better to prepare cotton balls in the evening and leave to dry until morning, then glue all the details with a fresh head and choose a fashionable image for the toy.

In this tutorial, you will also learn a great way to make original toy hats. We recommend using fleece for them, but its absence can be compensated for with a soft cleaning cloth.

Snowman made of paper napkins and thread

At home, you can. Don't believe me? Watch this detailed master class - and you will radically change your mind, and you can also make a cute little snowman out of paper napkins.

Also, to work on it, you will need white and red threads, a needle, glue, red fleece, beads and beads for decoration. Stock up on materials, show a little perseverance and accuracy - all this will provide you with the opportunity to be proud of your success in making Christmas tree decorations from paper napkins.

Nylon snowman

If you feel like a confident user of a needle and thread and have free time, you can aim at making a snowman in hosiery.

To work on it, prepare a white nylon sock, synthetic winterizer, some fleece and ready-made eyes. The nylon toy turns out to be very realistic and worth the time spent on it. Another good news: you don't need a pattern to make it, just patience and strict adherence to the recommendations of the craftswoman in the video.

Creative pasta snowman

If your craving for beautiful and daring experiments knows no bounds, try to "spice up" pasta and turn it into a playful snowman.

To work on this hero you will need:

  • flower pasta (about 1 kg);
  • round rubber balls;
  • PVA glue;
  • hat and scarf;
  • felt for accessories;
  • 2 cans of spray paint;
  • two wooden hand skewers;
  • glue gun.

Also, be patient, because the process will be long and painstaking.

Inflate two balloons so that one is slightly larger than the second. Cover each ball with pasta, pressing them firmly against each other.

Leave the pasted balls alone for about three days so that the pasta sticks together tightly and the whole structure does not fall apart during the removal of the ball.

Untie the balloon and very slowly begin to release air from it. The main thing is not to rush, otherwise you run the risk of letting all the work down the drain. The process of releasing air from each balloon will take you 10-15 minutes. It will take so much time for the rubber to gradually peel off from the pasta and not damage the walls of the blanks.

Glue both balls together with clear silicone sealant or glue gun.

Spray paint the workpiece. While it dries, you have no time to get bored. Prepare a hat and scarf, sew mittens, buttons, a carrot nose, eyes and mouth out of felt.

Use a glue gun to glue all the details to the craft and do not forget about the scarf. A tremendous job has been done, but such a pasta snowman is able to outshine any of its fellows.

Textile snowman

Lovely tilde dolls continue their triumphant march around the world. And to maintain this trend, we suggest you sew a snowman using a similar technique.

We have prepared for you a detailed mk on sewing: even with initial skills in working with a needle, it will take you no more than an hour, but it will bring a lot of pleasure.

For work you will need:

  • white and red cotton fabric;
  • filler, preferably synthetic winterizer;
  • thread and needle;
  • scissors;
  • acrylic paints and a paintbrush.

First, redraw the picture from the monitor or print the pattern of the toy.

Using a paper template, cut 2 blanks for a cap from a red fabric, and 2 blanks for a body from a white one. Do not forget to leave at least 0.5 cm allowances.

Sew the parts in pairs by hand or on a typewriter, leaving room for turning out. On raised areas, cut the allowance before reaching the seam. Turn out the parts. It remains to fill the blank of the body with padding polyester.

Sew the hole by hand with a blind stitch.

Fold in the edge of the cap by 0.5 cm and sew it to the head.

The artistic part of the work remained. Paint the snowman with fabric paints. You can give it any expression and mood.

Cut a piece of red ribbon and tie a scarf to the toy - our cutie is ready.

Take a note: you get an original Snowman craft, if you take a white terry towel for the body, of course, a new one.

If you have read our article to the end, then you are armed with the knowledge about snowmen as much as possible and you can safely start working on them, regardless of the presence of snow outside the window. Now the creation of a winter mood and a festive atmosphere is exclusively in your hands.

Very different, but very snowy - snowmen!

New Year is rushing to us! Very different, but very snowy - snowmen!
Snowman made of burlap and jute rope.

To make such snowmen you need:

Foam balls (can also be made from papier-mâché or crumpled out of paper and tied with threads);
- burlap / linen fabric;
- jute rope / twine;
- buttons;
- rolls of paper towels / toilet paper;
- plaid fabric (for example, an old shirt);
- black felt / felt;
- pencil, scissors, stationery knife, barbecue stick, glue.

Burlap and Jute Rope Snowman

Take one foam ball and cut the edge off to give it proper stability (photo 2). Cut the burlap into triangles, as in photo 3. The height of the triangle should be equal to the volume of the ball. Cover the balls with burlap (Photo 4-5).

Wrap a foam ball for the snowman's head with twine or jute rope, for which use a hot glue gun (photo 6-7). Connect the balls with a kebab stick (photo 8).

Make a cylinder from a roll of paper towel / toilet paper, glue over with black felt / fleece (Photo 9-10). Cut a piece of pencil from which to make a carrot nose for the snowman (photo 12).

Glue the button eyes. Make a scarf out of an old shirt by cutting off a rectangle. Decorate ready-made snowmen at your discretion.

DIY snowman.

Terry cloth in white and green;
- fleece of any shade;
- synthetic winterizer / holofiber (for filling);
- black beads for the peephole;
- glue, threads.

DIY snowman step by step:

The snowman will consist of three fabric balls of different diameters. Each ball, in turn, will consist of six wedges. Fold the white terry cloth in half and mark the wedges (you need to make three pieces of each size). Remember to leave some distance between the parts. The size of the wedges on the diagonal should be 10.5 cm, 8.5 cm and 7.5 cm (photo 1).

Sew each detail on a typewriter on one side (photo 2). Cut out all the details, making small indents around the edges. As a result, you should get nine double elements (photo 3).

Then put all three elements of each ball together (photo 4) and secure with pins (photo 5). Sew (photo 6). Turn out and fill. Get nice, round balls (Pic 7).

Sew them together in the specified descending sequence (photo 8). And admire the already formed snowman (photo 9)

Next, a snowman with his own hands needs to make a carrot nose. Make it out of a piece of orange fabric, in this case jersey was used. Fold the fabric in half and outline a triangle (Photo 10). Sew, turn out and fill with filler (photo 11). Sew on the snowman's head using a blind stitch (photo 12-13)

Sew on the eyes (photo 14). Give the snowman legs and handles. Fold the white terrycloth in half again and outline the arms and legs. The diagonal length of the handle should be 11 cm (photo 15). Stitch, leaving the filling hole (Photo 16).

Turn out and fill (photo 17). Sew up the hole (Photo 18). Fasten the handles with a thread method (photo 19). Do the same manipulations with the legs, sewing them with a blind stitch (photo 20).

Next, you need to dress an almost finished snowman with your own hands (photo 21). Start with a hat and cut a rectangle out of the fleece (here it measures 21x15 cm) (photo 22). Fold in half (Pic 23). Sew. Get such a blank. On one side, cut off the edge with zig-zag scissors (for decoration) - this will be the "fold" of the cap (photo 24).

On the other side, cut the fringe into stripes (Photo 25). Put the hat on the snowman's head and collect the resulting fringe into a kind of pom-pom (Photo 26). Next, glue the edges at the cap (photo 27-28).

Then make a scarf. To do this, fold a piece of fleece in half and outline the strip of the future scarf. The size of the strip is 25x6 cm (photo 29). Cut the ends of the scarf into fringes using the same scissors (Pic 30).

Tie a scarf over the snowman. It remains to put on mittens for him (photo 31). Also fold the fleece in half, mark the mittens, sew, turn out (Photo 32).

Decorate the edges of the theme with zig-zag scissors (photo 33). You can also give the snowman something to the pens so that he does not get bored. In this case, it was decided to give him a Christmas tree (photo 34). Outline the triangle and the bottom of the future tree on terry cloth in a green shade. The size of the triangle for the Christmas tree is 17x16 cm (photo 35).

Fold the triangle in half (Pic 36). Sew, leaving the filling hole (Pic 37). Pin the bottom of the Christmas tree with pins for reliability (photo 38). Sew (Photo 39). Turn out, fill and sew up the hole (Photo 40).

Sew the resulting tree onto the finished snowman. Decorate the Christmas tree with multi-colored (glue) to make it look like a New Year's.

A snowman with your own hands is ready!

Snowman made of pompons.

To create a snowman from pom-poms, you will need:

White yarn;
- a needle, scissors thick cardboard,
- additional materials for creating a peephole, nose and mouth, as well as his clothes (for example, a scarf and a hat).

Snowman made of pom poms step by step:

First of all, you need to create the pom-poms themselves, for which you can wind yarn around your fingers, as shown in MK, and also use cardboard rings.

A snowman can be made of either two or three pompoms. Pompons should be of different diameters and spherical. You can create handles for your snowman using the smallest cardboard rings. The thread must be wound very tightly.

After creating pompons, they need to be lined up in order of decreasing size and sewn together in the center, you can also connect them with a kebab skewer.

Snowmen can be created with or without handles, you can also use twigs instead of handles and whatever comes to your mind.

Make a scarf and a hat for the snowman from the pom-poms. Can be sewn from leftover fabric or knitted. It is advisable to make them from bright materials.

It remains only to design the snowman's face. For the eyelet, use beads, buttons or threads, for the nose - orange fabric, which must first be rolled into a thin tube. You can also make a spout out of mandarin peel. A snowman's mouth can be braided from a red or dark thread with a pigtail. Sew on or glue on the finished parts.

The creation of such a soft toy will bring a lot of pleasure to both children and adults.

You can also create other New Year's crafts from pompons, such as Christmas trees, and figures of other New Year's characters.

Snowmen on the Christmas tree.

To make snowmen you will need:

Packaging polypropylene pallet (from the store);
- multi-colored threads, hook;
- a thin needle;
- glue (you can use a glue stick);
- paper, pen / pencil, scissors;
- tangerine peel.

The process of creating snowmen for a Christmas tree:

Take tangerine peels and cut out noses for snowmen from it, dry.

Draw a pattern of a snowman and mittens on paper. Cut off the bottom of the polypropylene pallet and circle the templates on it (advice: you can use a non-writing pen that can only draw a contour, then there will be no ink marks around the edges). Place the details not end-to-end, then it will be convenient to cut them out.

Cut out the details. 1 snowman will need 2 pcs. torso and 4 pcs. mittens. The rest can be used to create the next snowmen. Tie a hat and scarf. Can also be sewn from fabric (optional).

Draw a face for the snowman, glue the nose and embroider the snowflakes. Cut off some dark thread to create handles.

Take the second part and attach the handles to it, put the part with the face on top, fix them and sew the edges (advice: do not pull strongly on the thread, otherwise it will cut through the polypropylene!).

Embroider a snowflake on one part of the mitten, put a pen thread on it, cover it on top with the second part and sew along the edge, repeat with the next mitten.

Dress up the finished snowman as a snowman in a hat and scarf (fasten the hat with a thread).

The snowman is ready to decorate your Christmas tree!

DIY sock snowman.

To create snowmen from socks, you will need:

White children's knee-highs (tights)
- colored socks
- the core of the orange pencil for the nose-carrot
- needle with thread
- on glue "Moment-Crystal"
- decor for snowmen: laces, ribbons, ties, buttons

Sock snowmen step by step:

Cut off the excess parts from the tights that we do not need - the foot and the upper part.

Turn the future body of a snowman inside out. Tie the upper part with a string. Tie tight enough to keep the snowman millet from spilling out.

Sprinkle in the millet and tie the top.

Dress the snowman: make a hat from the foot of the sock, and an excellent blouse will come out of the upper part, which can be decorated with buttons, ribbons, bows.

The eyes and nose can be made from any material. You can use buttons for the eyelet, and a rod from an old orange pencil for the carrot nose. It will need to be sharpened, and for strength, glue it to the Moment-Crystal glue.

Sock snowmen are ready!

Snowman. Dry felting technique.

To make a snowman you will need:

White carded wool (about 50 g);
- some orange and red wool;
- synthetic winterizer for the base;
- two beads for the peephole;
- a large needle and a stern thread;
- sponge, glue, nail file;
- 4 fine needles and 1 coarse one;
- dry pastel + brush.

Snowman using dry felting technique step by step:

Pick up a picture of a snowman. You don't need to make an exact copy, but the ratio of the body parts of the snowman is important.

Making the torso:

The body of the snowman will consist of three balls of different sizes and handles. Take a synthetic winterizer, roll it up tightly and sew with a thick thread. This will be the basis for the largest ball. Fluff up a small piece of wool and, applying it to the synthetic winterizer ball, weld with a thin needle (photo 2). Cover the entire ball with a layer of wool. Try not to create bald spots, and the coat lies flat. Then work with a coarse needle (photo 3-4).

Start making the next ball. For which you need a small piece of wool, which must first be fluffed up so that no "creases" arise. Shape into a ball by gently working with a coarse needle. Start small and then add the wool pieces while constantly turning the ball in your hands. Make it the size and density you need. It is important not to overload the workpiece (photo 5-6).

At the beginning of work, try to keep the needle between your fingers. Make two balls of different sizes and try on. Attach the center ball to the bottom ball. Cover the joint with a small piece of wool (Photo 7-10).

Start making pens for the snowman. Take two identical pieces and fluff them up. Roll the wool, turning it in your hands, giving it the desired shape. You need to make two identical elements. It is necessary to alternately form one or the other hand. Add wool to achieve the same size and density (Pic 11-12).

Then fluff up the upper arm and secure it to the torso (Photo 13-15). "Fasten" the handles to the body with wool. Compare the sizes of the handles (Pic 16-18).

If the snowman is thin, add fur to the sides and belly (photo 19-20).

Head making:

Move on to the next part - make a ball for the head. Seal and measure. Attach the head to the body, smoothing the joint with wool (photo 21-22). Deepen the eye sockets and glue / sew beads into them (photo 23).

Work on facial expressions - give him cheeks and a chin. Make an oval blank out of a small piece of wool. We attach it to the head. Next, make two identical balls for the cheeks. Weld them without forgetting about symmetry. Draw a mouth (Pic 24-26).

Use a sponge to create the eyelids. And to speed up the process, you can knit three thin needles with a money rubber band. Start by taking two pieces of wool that are the same size. Fluff them up and place one of them on the sponge (Photo 27).

Gently seal the top on one side and then on the other. Form an even edge. Tighten the wool on both sides again. Make two identical elements (Pic 28-30). Make the upper eyelids by analogy. Begin fastening from the lower eyelid (photo 31-32).

The expression on the face of the snowman will depend on the design of the eye section (photo 33-34). The eyes are ready - make a mouth. Deepen the mouth line with a coarse needle. And mark the place for the spout (Photo 35-37).

Use red wool to make mittens. Begin to carefully create the desired shape by turning the fur in your hands. Make a couple of mittens at once and compare their sizes periodically. Make a finger from a small piece and attach it to the main part. Add wool as needed. Leave the place where the mitt is attached to the hand fluffy (Photo 39-44).

Make a nose for the snowman - form a cone from a small piece of orange wool and fasten it in the intended place (Pic 45-47).

Grinding a snowman:

After the formation of a dense body - proceed to grinding. Take a dime-sized piece of wool. Fluff it up well and gently weld it to the body with a fine needle. Lay the fur like the scales of a fish, covering the entire surface of the toy (photo 48-50).

One handle can be lowered for a natural looking snowman. To do this, press on top of the hand and work out the line of connection between the handle and the body well (photo 51-52). Don't forget to sand the mittens (photo 53). Attach the "buttons", having previously felted three small balls (Pic 54).

Snowman tinting:

For toning, you can use dry pastels of earthy shades. Rub the pastels on a file and then tint the surface with a brush. Then dress the finished snowman in a scarf and hat.

DIY thread snowman.

To create a snowman from threads, we need:

A skein of white knitting thread (other colors can also be used)
- 4 balloons or fingertips
- PVA glue
- starch
- colored paper

The process of creating a snowman from threads:

The first step is to prepare an adhesive mixture, for which take half a liter of water, 3 tbsp. l. starch. Cook for a while and cool the resulting paste.

Inflate 4 balloons in size corresponding to the parts of the snowman's body - head, torso and two arms.

Dip the threads into the paste, and then begin to evenly wrap each of the balls with them. In the process of winding, it is advisable to keep the rest of the threads in a sticky mass all the time.

Leave the balls on until the threads are completely dry. After that, you need to carefully remove the ball, for which first blow it off.

Next, you need to connect all the parts of the snowman together. To connect the body to the head, make a depression in it, for which sprinkle a small space from a spray bottle at the place of the future connection and carefully create a depression in a moistened place.

You can glue the body to the head with a paper mug smeared with PVA glue on both sides. Leave until the glue is completely dry.

Glue the hands by analogy. Decorate the snowman by making eyes, a carrot nose, a smile from colored paper. You can also make a nose out of threads, for which you twist a sheet of paper into a cone and wind orange threads dipped in paste over it (the paste also needs to be tinted with orange acrylic paint).

As a headdress, you can make a semblance of a bucket from an ice cream cup, pasted over with brown paper.

A snowman made of threads with your own hands is ready! You can create snowmen of any shape you like, with or without crustaceans.

Happy New Year!

Knitted snowman.

To create a knitted snowman, you will need:

Threads of red, green, white gold;
- hook of the right size;
- tennis ball and bead, slightly smaller in diameter;
- needle and thread to match (thin);
- waxed thread of gold color;
- PVA glue + brush.
- two black glass beads and two black beads;
- paper.

Crochet knitted snowman step by step:

To create the body of a snowman, we need 2 beads of different sizes. You can also use a tennis ball as a base for your torso. Blanks for the head and torso should be white so that the original color does not show through the knitting. To do this, use white beads or paint them with acrylic paint of the appropriate color (Fig. 1).

For tying round shapes, use the following algorithm.

2. You need to finish adding loops when the knitted blank and the ball are not equal in diameter (put the knitting on your ball and measure, looking from above).

Figure 2 shows that you will need to knit at least one more row so that the knitted blank and the tennis ball are equal in diameter.

Figure 3 clearly shows that the diameters of the workpiece and the tennis ball are the same.

3. The middle of any round shape must be knitted without adding loops in the number of rows determined by eye. Thus, you will need to knit about 1/4 of the surface of the ball.

4. It is necessary to decrease the loops according to the addition scheme, only in the reverse order. To complete the knitting, decrease the loops until the ball is completely hidden under the knitting.

Figure 5-6 shows the finished tied blanks for the head and body of the future snowman.

To firmly connect them, you will need to thread the end of the thread from the body blank through the penultimate rows of the head blank (Figure 7). Pull it tight and tie in a knot (Figure 8).

Tie a bright-colored scarf for a snowman, for which cast on 10 loops with thin knitting needles, and tie the canvas with an ordinary elastic band about 20 cm long (Figure 9-10).

Make a nose with a string of glue. Roll a piece of paper into a bag, fix the end with PVA glue (Figure 11). Pull the orange thread through the resulting blank (Figure 12).

Now knit a hat using the torso knitting algorithm. Those. knit first by adding loops, then several rows without adding (Figure 15).

Take the beads and bugles that will serve as eyes for the snowman. Sew them on. Tie a ready-made scarf (Figure 16).

Attach the nose by passing the thread through the base of the nose (Figure 17). Using a needle, first secure one end of the thread, pull the nose, and then secure the other end of the thread (Figure 18).

Hang the snowman by pulling a gold waxed thread through the end of the beanie.

  • Winter holidays are coming soon, and it's time to pick up master classes according to which you can make a snowman with your own hands for the New Year 2018 for kindergarten or school - from paper, from thread, from cotton pads, from socks and from other scrap materials.

    Winter and New Year are all that children are looking forward to. For kids, a Christmas tree, gifts, fluffy snow, winter fun, snowmen and snowballs are the most desired entertainments of winter. And we propose to learn how to make a snowman with your own hands for the New Year. A wonderful snowy beauty can be made from those materials that are at home, together with a child, and decorate a room, a Christmas tree, or for handmade contests in a kindergarten or school.

    In order to create an adorable snowman with your own hands for the New Year from socks, there are several ways. All of them are based on the fact that part of any sock is fastened on one side and a filler is stuffed into the sock. And after that, the sock needs to be pulled in the middle, tied on top and decorated.

    The article will provide several variations with tips and descriptions to make the creative process more fun and fruitful. We will try to make funny snowmen from various materials, from everything that can be found at home:

    • socks;
    • plastic cups;
    • paper;
    • disks;
    • thread.

    Let's start! The first master class is dedicated to a snowman made of plain socks.

    Sock snowman

    In order to make such a handsome man yourself, you need:

    1. Socks. You need to take white ones for the snowman's body and you can take colored ones for the cap and clothes.
    2. Threads with a needle.
    3. Glue gun.
    4. Paints and a brush.
    5. Beads.
    6. Felt.
    7. Sintepon.
    8. Scissors.

    Now look at several collections of photos with step-by-step instructions for a snowman with your own hands for the New Year:

    Step-by-step photos of making a snowman from socks

You can decorate a snowman made of socks to your taste, not at all like in the photo. Here you can squeeze your imagination and use any material that you find at home.

    Video tutorial on making snowmen:

    We use threads

    Next, we will describe two options for how to make a snowman with your own hands for the New Year from threads. One of them is pretty simple. This is a snowman made of pompoms, which can be made for a competition for a school or kindergarten. For him we need:

    • threads are white. It is better to take acrylic or semi-wool here;
    • half-beads for a peephole and decoration;
    • ribbon or decorative braid;
    • fluffy wire. It is sold at any craft store;
    • twigs for pens;
    • glue. You can use a hot glue gun or Moment Crystal instant glue.

    Now let's start creating a fluffy snowman:

    1. Initially, you need to make 2 pom-poms from threads. To do this, take 2 cartons. One is wider, the other is slightly narrower, since we need to make one large pompom, the other smaller. You need to wind the threads on these cardboard boxes as much as possible. The splendor of the pompon depends on the number of threads. Then we stretch the thread inside the wound threads, tie it at one end, and cut it at the other. We get two pom-poms for the bottom and top of the snowman.
    2. Now you need to tie both pompoms together by the tails of the thread.
    3. Our snowman is ready. It remains to glue his eyes and nose, buttons and twigs on the sides of the handle.
    4. We tie a ribbon scarf to a snowman. Before this, the edges of the tape must be cut in a special way. To do this, fold the tape along and cut it obliquely from the middle to the tip, unfold the tape, slightly scorch the edges with a lighter.
    5. Now we make headphones from fluffy wire. Let's bend it as shown in the picture and put it on the snowman's head.

    Step-by-step photos of making New Year's snowmen
    • white threads. This snowman needs cotton for knitting;
    • PVA glue;
    • air balloons;
    • twigs for pens;
    • buttons for peephole and for decoration;
    • paper or felt for a hat;
    • a flap of fabric for a scarf;
    • hot glue.

    When everything is ready, we start making an openwork thread snowman:

    1. We inflate two balloons. We make one big, the second smaller.
    2. Pour PVA glue into a bowl and soak the threads there.
    3. After that, we immediately begin to wind the threads in glue on the ball in random order, chaotically.
    4. When both balls are wrapped in threads, we leave them to dry. Better to leave the balls overnight.
    5. When the threads are dry, you need to burst the balls and carefully pull them out.
    6. Now we glue both balls, a small one on top of a large one.
    7. At the bottom of the large ball, cut off the rounded part with scissors so that the snowman stands steadily.
    8. We glue the handles of the twigs to the snowman.
    9. We cut out the hat, glue its parts and put the snowman on the top of the head, fixing it with glue.
    10. Now we need to glue buttons in the form of a peephole and on the body of the snowman, for decoration.
    11. We make a carrot out of paper or felt, glue it in place of the spout.
    12. We make a scarf from a piece of fabric and tie it to a snowman.

    It should be noted that the process is quite laborious, since you need to carefully craft the balls themselves from threads in glue, but when this stage is completed and the balls are dry, there is only pleasant work that can be done with the kids.

    Such a do-it-yourself snowman for the New Year 2018 will be very good for an exhibition or decoration for a kindergarten or school group.

    Original ideas from paper

    Crafting from paper is a very simple and surprisingly enjoyable activity. Kids love this kind of creativity very much. For the New Year, you can make a snowman out of paper with your own hands. Below are several options for ideas with a step-by-step description of their implementation. Let's see how you can make amazing snowmen out of plain paper or paper napkins.

    Snowman made of handprints for the school competition

    • white, blue, orange paper;
    • pencil;
    • scissors;
    • glue.

    Getting started:

    1. On white paper, you need to circle your palms and cut them out. You need to make as many of these palms as possible.
    2. Cut out a cap from blue paper - a triangle and three snowflakes for buttons.
    3. Now we glue our palms. You need to make 3 circles of them: 1 large, 1 smaller and small.
    4. We glue all three circles together.
    5. Now we glue the cap and snowflakes over the buttons.
    6. The nose, eyes and a smile can be cut out of colored paper and glued, or you can draw with paints or felt-tip pens.

    The snowman from the palms is ready. It can be attached to the wall of a child's room or in a kindergarten group.

    Snowman made of paper napkins

    We will prepare everything that we need:

    • white paper napkins;
    • pencil;
    • scissors;
    • glue gun;
    • three foam balls of different sizes;
    • skewers or toothpicks to connect the balls together;
    • buttons for the peephole;
    • felt or paper orange spout cone;
    • twigs for pens.

    We start tinkering:

    1. The napkins must be cut into squares.
    2. Cut off the bottom of the largest ball so that the bottom is flat for stability.
    3. Now we glue each ball with napkins. We will glue using the facing technique. To do this, we wind a square of a napkin on the opposite end of a pencil or any wooden stick. We dip in PVA glue and apply to the ball. So we paste over all the balls. We glue all the elements close to each other, so the balls will turn out to be fluffier.
    4. Then we glue the balls one on top of the other.
    5. We fasten the twigs - handles and eyes with a spout.

    The snowman from paper napkins is ready. You can decorate him to your liking, put on a scarf or a hat.

    Look at some more photos with ideas on how you can make a snowman with your own hands for the New Year:

    Snowman appliques

    Surprisingly, but the applique can not be made of paper. The following is a step-by-step master class on how to make a snowman with your own hands for the New Year from cotton pads, which can be sent to a competition in a school or kindergarten. It will be a beautiful New Year's applique. The child himself will gladly do it, but under the supervision of the parents.

    To tell the kid the order of actions, let's take a closer look at how to do it. Let's get ready first:

    • cotton pads. We will make a snowman and snowdrifts from them;
    • thick cardboard for the base. It can be of any color. Blue, light blue or purple will be very good;
    • glue. You can use PVA or any other for paper;
    • colored paper;
    • scissors.

    Now let's start:

    1. On cardboard - we glue a snowman from three or two cotton pads on the base. We just glue the discs one on top of the other. You can make one or two such snowmen on one cardboard.
    2. Now you need to paint the snowman. Cut out the cap, eyes and nose from colored paper. Cut out a scarf and handles with mittens. We glue all the details on the snowman.
    3. On the panel with snowmen we will also glue drifts of halves of cotton pads. You can cut out rectangles of houses and glue them on the sides by drawing the windows with a felt-tip pen.

    The child can dream up himself and come up with how to supplement the application. It can be the sun, clouds, and so on.

    In addition, you can make a wonderful toy from cotton pads. It can be hung on a tree or used to decorate a Christmas wreath, walls, and so on. Let's get ready for work:

    • cotton pads;
    • thread with a needle;
    • a little padding polyester;
    • felt;
    • a pair of peephole beads;
    • glue. Better to use the second Crystal Moment.

    Now we start working:

    1. Take 2 discs for the bottom and 2 for the top. The ones for the top we cut a little in a circle, making them smaller in diameter.
    2. Now you need to sew the parts together with a seam over the edge. But let's leave a little open edge to fill and stitch them together.
    3. Let's fill in both details with padding polyester.
    4. Fold them together one in one where there is an unsewn gap and sew.
    5. Now let's decorate. We cut out a cap from felt and sew it to the snowman on top of the head with the same seam.
    6. Next, glue the beads - the eyes. Cut out a triangle of orange felt and glue it instead of the nose.
    7. Cut out a strip of felt - a scarf and knit a snowman.
    8. You can make a decor by cutting out leaves and berries from colored felt and stick them on a snowman.

    Such a handsome man can be hung on a Christmas tree by attaching a string to it or used to decorate a wreath or for other purposes.

    Plastic cups - let's turn them into a snowman

    And now we will make a snowman with our own hands for the New Year 2018 from cups, ordinary plastic disposable cups.

    Such a snowman, made by hand, will turn out to be quite large. They can decorate an apartment, a group in a kindergarten, a class at a school. You can put a garland inside and then the snowman will glow. But about everything in detail and in order.

    Let's prepare everything for work:

    1. Plastic cups. For one snowman, we need as many cups as you need a big snowman. It takes quite a lot for a big snowman. The first row alone will take 25 cups.
    2. Stapler and staples for connecting cups.
    3. You can take a real hat and scarf and then dress up the figurine.
    4. For the peephole, you can take balls equal in size to the neck of the glass. We paint them black and put them in the cup itself in the right places.
    5. Glue the nose from orange felt into a cone in the form of a carrot.
    6. We also need a glue gun.

    Getting started:

    1. We spread the first row like this. We put the cups in a circle with the bottom inward and the neck out. We fasten the glasses with a stapler to each other. So we make several rows, each subsequent one turns out to be smaller than the previous one, since we put the glasses between those that go in the previous row.
    2. Now we make the head. The first row for the ball under the head consists of 18 cups. We do everything exactly the same.
    3. After we pore head to body with a stapler.
    4. Now we insert balls - eyes. We will paint them black beforehand and fix them with glue.
    5. Then we attach the spout.
    6. We knit a scarf and put on a cap on top. For reliability, we will fix it with glue.
    7. You can put a garland inside or leave the snowman like that.

    You can decorate the snowman to your liking. You can attach twigs to him as handles and "give" a broom in your hands. You can attach a wide felt strap to the snowman or a real one if you find the right size. Attach it with a stapler.

    You can make buttons from exactly the same balls by fixing them in the neck of the cup in suitable places. Or cut out snowflakes from colored paper and stick to the snowman anywhere, as if real snowflakes lay on top of our handsome man.

    Such a snowman can be made for a competition for school or kindergarten!

    On the eve of New Year's holidays, each family tries to decorate their home as original and beautiful as possible. Children, like no one else, are waiting for the arrival of the New Year and will be happy to help you make festive preparations. Today we offer you an interesting workshop on making snowman crafts with your own hands from various materials.

    Craft paper snowman

    A cute paper snowman can be made with a preschool child. To do this, you need paper (preferably for quilling), cotton wool, tweezers, a sheet of cardboard and glue.

    1. Cut the white paper into thin strips of the same width. We spin two large rolls from these strips: the head and the body. To make the rolls large, you will need up to 10 strips, each new strip should be glued to the workpiece with glue. We glue two rolls together.
    2. In order to make a hat for a snowman, we twist a large roll of multi-colored stripes, then give the roll the shape of a hat, bending it with your finger. We glue the hat inside for reliability.
    3. Cut the fringe on a wide yellow strip and twist it in the form of a bubo. We glue the bubo and the cap together.
    4. Twist the nose from a small strip of red, glue the eyes made of two beads. The paper snowman is ready!

    Craft a snowman from threads

    Children's craft of a snowman made of threads will decorate any New Year's holiday. From a minimum of materials, you get just an unusually beautiful and original craft. To begin with, take 5 balloons, PVA glue in plastic packaging and a large needle. We pierce the bottle of glue with a needle and thread so that the thread with which you will subsequently wrap the balls is in the glue. We inflate balloons: three for the torso and two small ones for the handles. We wrap each ball with yarn like balls. Leave the balls to dry overnight. Then we pierce the balls inside our balls with a needle and take out. We connect our balls with glue, the sides that will be adjacent to each other can be slightly flattened. From colored paper we make a snowman's nose, eyes and decorate with accessories. Our snowman is ready!

    Craft a snowman from cotton wool

    Craft a snowman made of cotton wool can be made as a Christmas tree souvenir or a small gift. We take a piece of cotton wool and, with soapy hands, roll out two balls of different diameters from it: for the head and body. We let our balls dry, and at this time we dilute PVA glue with water in the proportions: 1 part of water and 2 parts of glue. Glitter can be added to the glue. Lubricate our lumps with glue and let them dry. To make a carrot for the nose, you need to tightly wind cotton wool around a toothpick, grease it with a thin layer of glue, remove and paint it orange. We connect the body and head with a toothpick, previously dipped in glue. We glue the eyes to the snowman, insert our hands and decorate the resulting craft with accessories.

    Craft a snowman from plastic cups

    In order to make a snowman craft as tall as a preschool child, you need to stock up on free time, a drop of patience and invite a cheerful little helper. Prepare 300 plastic cups of the same shape and a stapler with a full package of # 10 staples in advance. When choosing cups, pay attention to the fact that the narrower the rim of the glass, the better they fit together.
