Boho style is free from stereotypes and routine. Freedom and creative self-expression is a kind of style motto in the creation of any jewelry.

Brooches

Boho style, like no other, loves jewelry such as brooches. Volumetric, textured, bright and catchy brooches are an essential feature in creating an image. These author's products are unusually colorful. Natural materials are usually used in their creation: fabrics with a variety of textures (linen, jeans, organza), fringes, beads, stones, beads.

Usually brooches can be supplemented with national ornaments, patterns or original symbols. Most often, boho brooches are handmade. Only when creating handmade jewelry can you put your soul into the product, endowing it with your own special character. Traditional brooches can complement both daytime and evening looks, giving chic and originality at the same time.

Earrings

Today, boho-style earrings are a constant participant in fashion jewelry collections. But, with the use of imagination and a sincere love of creativity, you can create interesting earrings just at home at no extra cost. From ordinary materials at first glance, you can create real stylish masterpieces. Using earrings in boho style, you can forever get rid of boredom and routine, creating colorful, original, but always feminine images.

Boho style earrings will never lose their relevance

The materials that can be used to create these earrings are very different. These can be feathers, leather, glitter, metal, natural stones, large and small beads made of wood, ceramics, glass or plastic. Dangling earrings with many elements and pendants are an integral part of the original boho look.

Usually, the bracelet is designed to emphasize the elegance and fragility of a woman's wrist. Boho-style is no exception, despite the love for massiveness and volume of jewelry. Not one bracelet looks advantageous, but several. At the same time, they may not match in color, be decorated in different ways, differ in shape and width.

Boho bracelets

The basic rule is that they should all be in boho style. The bracelet can be made of metal, textiles and even wood. As a decor, a boho-style bracelet "loves" ethnic patterns, flowers, stones (natural or sparkling bugles), beads, beads of all shapes and sizes. The bracelet looks interesting, consisting of several leather cords intertwined with each other in an interesting pattern and complemented by symbolic pendants. Chains, forged or even clay bracelets are appropriate.

Rings and necklaces

Boho style is incredibly romantic. The spirit of romance is also embodied in rings, which are necessarily used in creating a light, daring, original boho image. Delicate and thin female fingers are lowered by massive rings resembling signet rings. Despite the volume, rings do not violate harmony and aesthetics, but, on the contrary, help self-expression. Traditionally, rings can humiliate several fingers at the same time, but a sense of proportion is also important.

At its core, the boho style is a combination of light casualness with bohemian luxury. The images that are obtained from this combination amaze the imagination, because, despite the fact that things are connected in them are completely different and, at first glance, not suitable for each other, it all looks just incredibly stylish. In addition, the boho style never loses its popularity and its elements, one way or another, are present in the collections of all seasons. But boho-style jewelry definitely deserves a separate mention, so let's talk about them in more detail.

Boho chic - jewelry

In general, jewelry in this style can be roughly divided into two categories: bohemian and, so to speak, careless. The former are most often metal and stones, but the latter are made of textiles and beads.

Bohemian. Boho jewelry in a luxurious style is loved by many girls and often use them in their looks, not even knowing that it is boho. For example, these are large earrings made of metal or stones, thin metal bracelets, as well as larger ones, again inlaid with stones or simply decorated with some patterns. Such jewelry looks luxurious, and they are able to add a "zest" to any, even the simplest and most casual look. In addition, they are also suitable for festive occasions, as with dresses they look much more interesting and original than jewelry.

Negligence. Boho-style textile jewelry is also quite popular. First of all, the fact that they can be done independently, guided by a variety of master classes. This way, you can be sure that your jewelry will be one of a kind. Fabric boho jewelry is somewhat reminiscent of the technique and others like it. You can make flat decorations and sew on them volumetric appliqués of flowers, as well as beads, or make beads from the fabric itself and string them on a thread, interspersed with beads, and so on. In fact, everything here is limited exclusively by the limits of your imagination or, if you do not like to do handicrafts yourself, the assortment of shops.

To more clearly appreciate what we talked about, look at the photos of boho chic jewelry below in the gallery, which will surely not leave you indifferent.

Instructions

Use only natural materials for boho decorations. If you don't have the right ones, buy a small piece. In order to create a brooch, you will need a little linen, cotton or cambric to match your dress. Grab the dress and head to the fabrics department. Pick up on your own or together with a sales consultant fabric for your future brooch. The fabric is cut off at least thirty centimeters. This amount of fabric will be enough for you to decorate your boho dress.

This fabric can be matched with a companion fabric. A cage, a small flower, polka dots - that's what you need to pay attention to. Then lace - one or two types, one slightly wider than the other. Various beads or a beautiful button will also come in handy.

Now proceed directly to making a boho brooch. Search online for a way to create a fabric rose. You can use the following: cut a strip of fabric to make a rose and fold it in half lengthwise.
Wind up a little.

Secure from the wrong side with a needle and thread so that the fabric does not unfold, and then turning the fabric in different directions, form a rose. Secure with stitches.

To decorate a boho brooch, you can use various methods. Cut the lace along one edge with a thread and a needle and gather in the shape of the flower. The resulting flower should be wider than the rose. Sew the rose to the flower. You can use two types of lace, one should be slightly wider than the other. Companion fabric can be used instead of lace for boho decoration.

Hello dear readers and guests of my blog! This time I want to talk with you about boho accessories. If you have not heard about this style, then I will tell you a little about it. Boho is an amazing combination of vintage, folk, ethno, eco, grunge and hippie with a bohemian style and a touch of romanticism. And the boho style was born as a controversial answer to glamor, and, oddly enough, this style has taken root and fell in love with many people, and even such famous stars as Kate Moss, Helena Bonham-Carter, Johnny Depp. Interesting, right?

I really love the boho chic style, because it fits very harmoniously into my lifestyle. As you know, I spend a lot of time in the Italian Alps, where I enjoy nature, a sense of freedom, Italian hearty fun and communication, and also draw inspiration for my projects. And I am glad that I chose this particular style, because there is no dress code in my work, and thus, as a creative person, I can feel comfortable in boho-style clothes and jewelry.

Secrets of choosing accessories in boho style

Please note that the boho style, and in particular accessories, is characterized by the following features:

  • natural materials: leather, metals, natural stones, feathers, threads, suede.

  • ethnic elements, but you need to be careful with them. In order not to become like a very village young lady.
  • rather rough shoes, shoes with fringes, animal prints on shoes are possible. According to the models, these can be cowboy-style ankle boots, rough army boots, suede over the knee boots, clogs, sandals with straps around the ankle and shin, platform. Classic converse, moccasins are also suitable.

  • Coarse-knit hats and scarves, caps, wide-brimmed woolen hats, turbans, headbands.

  • Fringed bags, totes, leather and suede backpacks, miniature velvet or metal handbags, as well as textile ones embroidered with beads.

  • Mix of silver and gold. If earlier it was impossible to mix these two precious metals, now, if you combine gold and silver jewelry with taste, you will get a rather original image. It is worth noting that the combination of gold and silver jewelry gives a dynamic metallic effect, thus the two colors dilute each other and create a complex look.

Remember that you do not have to fully dress in boho chic clothes to afford accessories in this style. Sometimes you can add one element in this style to your image, this is especially true if the dress code does not allow you to. You can add a small fringed handbag to a formal and business suit. Such an image will look very original, and for little young ladies it is also a life hack, because a long fringe visually increases growth.

How to choose

With the help of accessories, you can not only create an interesting image, but also correct some flaws in appearance and shape.

I have already written about the principle of similarity when choosing accessories for a face. But in short, let me remind you:

If you have sharp facial features, then it is best for you to choose pointed geometric jewelry, if you are the owner of rounded facial features, then round or oval elements should be present among your accessories. Well, if you have mixed facial features, then you can choose mixed elements. Thus, you will highlight your natural beauty.

With the help of accessories, you can visually adjust the height. It's pretty simple, the main thing is to learn a few rules and follow them. These tips are perfect for those with small stature.

These are perhaps all the basic principles that are important to know when choosing boho accessories. Personally at
me, since I am short and I have very thin wrists and fingers, there are problems with the selection of bracelets and rings. But boho chic is good because the bracelets can be made by yourself. For example, how you can easily make one from the Chan Luu brand for $ 140!

Master class on creating a bracelet

Below I will provide you with a guide on how to make a boho chic bracelet. In order to create this work of art, you must have the following items at hand:

  • Thin leather cord. In order to determine how long the cord should be, you simply measure the desired length on the wrist and multiply the resulting figure by two. Add 12-15 cm to the amount received - this will go to the resulting knots and loops in the bracelet.
  • Beads with a diameter of 2 mm to 6 mm. In this master class, the following beads were used - 4 mm faceted Czech beads, 5 mm glass round balls made of natural stone and 4 mm faceted glass beads.
  • A thread. A red nylon thread works great for this bracelet. On this bracelet you need to take a spool of thread. This length is enough to make several bracelets.
  • Needle. Use a needle that is comfortable for stringing the beads.
  • Button. You will need it in order to fix the bracelet on your hand. For such purposes, it is best to take a nickel button.

After you have made sure that all the accessories are at hand, you can start creating a beautiful boho chic bracelet with your own hands.

  1. Take a thin leather cord, fold it in half and make a regular knot and loop on top. Make sure the buttonhole is large enough to fit the button through the buttonhole.
  2. Then take a red thread and a needle, and just below the fixed knot on the leather cord, make a beautiful knot, fix the thread. Then you need to tie the two sides of the lace together using red thread knots in the form of 8. This action needs to be done 10-12 times in order to firmly fix the two sides of the leather lace. Please note that the thread in the needle must be double.
  3. Now take a bead and start stringing it on the left side.
  4. And on the right side, make a beautiful figure eight and stick the needle into the bead again. You will see more details in the photo.

Hold the bead with your fingers, and if you need to adjust the bead and the thread tension, be sure to do this.

  1. Repeat the steps 4-5 times. Always secure the thread with your hands to prevent the stitches from loosening. If you need to adjust stitches or thread tension, do so. Try to keep the stitches symmetrical and neat.
  2. Continue stringing the beads until you reach the length you want. Please note that you can alternate several beads to make your bracelet look more original.
  3. After you are finished with the beads, secure the end of the bracelet in the same way as you did at the beginning, before stringing the beads. Wrap the thread around the end of the bracelet 10-12 times. And for greater reliability, lubricate the resulting knot with colorless nail polish.
  4. Now you are making a knot out of the leather lace as you did in the beginning.
  5. Then put on the button and make the knot again.
  6. That's it, your bracelet is ready!

In this post I have shown only a part of my boho style accessories, I will show even more in one of the next posts dedicated to boho style summer dresses.

Light dresses with intricate patterns, fringed kimonos, summer suede boots, linen lace, beads and embroidery ... Don't be alarmed, this is not an analysis of your mom's wardrobe since her youth (although there are definitely some things from there). Boho style is at its peak this summer.

It is practically the only style of clothing in which jewelry is not additional accessories, but key details of the image. We'll talk about them today.

Glitter and poverty

This is how boho can be summed up in a nutshell. In fact, bohemiens are French nomadic gypsies and roving entertainers. People of art, free artists, who, like the gypsies, did not bind themselves with anything, preferring freedom and creativity to stability, were also called in the same way.

Their life was unpredictable and full of impressions: they either bathed in money and fame, then they lived almost from hand to mouth. This was reflected in the appearance of the bohemia. Freelance artists wore at the same time luxurious and simple, new and worn, made to measure by an elite tailor or taken from someone else's shoulder. At the same time, things with a history were appreciated, experiments were considered a creative search, and extravagant outfits were considered a manifesto of art.

As such, the concept of boho style emerged in the 1960s. Outwardly, he resembled the hippie style, but differed from him ideologically. Bohemia valued individuality and self-expression, while hippies valued democracy and equality.

It is believed that the revival of the boho style in its modern interpretation was due to Kate Moss. In the early 2000s, striving for self-expression, the model began to casually mix things of different directions, creating unusual and creative images.

A combination of materials, textures, natural fabrics, decorative elements, a combination of simple and emphatically refined, ethnic and natural motives - all this is true for jewelry.

Layering

The main feature of boho is its layering. Often this effect is achieved precisely through jewelry. Chains of various lengths put on at the same time, complemented by all sorts of unusual pendants, in a boho style will not be considered bad taste. It is also worth paying attention to inlaid rings and layered necklaces, which were created by caring designers for boho lovers.

When paired with a regular T-shirt, embroidered tunic or cotton shirt, these embellishments add that "thoughtful negligence" that is so difficult to achieve.

Natural materials

Boho jewelry must be made from natural materials. That is why adherents of this style often prefer ornamental stones, which, in their opinion, have retained a great connection with nature. Diamonds and sapphires give way to onyx, turquoise, malachite and amber. Jewelry with these stones should be noticeable and voluminous, and the inserts themselves should be large and bright. It doesn't matter if earrings, rings or necklaces - choose something stylish and original, something that reflects your inner world and gives an unforgettable feeling of freedom.

Fringe

Tassels, fringes and "coin beads" from shoes and bags migrated to jewelry. Almost no boho look is complete without long earrings with pendant elements. Earrings with chains, voluminous moving parts, enamel and intricate patterns can be worn with long skirts, cotton dresses and ripped jeans. And with dresses with bare shoulders, boho earrings will look not only relevant, but also very romantic.

Aged look

Not every piece of jewelry will go well with tattered things that have a history. That is why rhodium-plated metal appears so often in boho looks.

The decorative coatings give the jewelry a vintage, somewhat aged look, as if you inherited it from your grandmother. This is also valuable, because the boho style is designed to reveal the uniqueness of every person who has the right to self-expression.
