How to paint on Christmas balls. How to paint Christmas balls with your own hands

This master class is dedicated to decorating decorations for the most wonderful winter holiday - New Year. We will decorate New Year's balls in different ways and we will turn ordinary plastic balls into unique and unique ones made by our own hands. And since most of the methods are very simple, you can easily use them for activities with children.

Advice! Prepare in advance a place where you can hang the painted balls to dry so that they do not touch each other with their edges. Otherwise, you can spoil your work and your pleasure.

For a simple decoration of Christmas balls, you will need:

Method number 1 Snowball

The easiest way! We hold the ball with the index and thumb. On a sponge we collect white acrylic paint "Acryl-Art" and lightly apply it to the top of the ball.

Let it dry. On the sides, the outline can be written nice words and wishes.

Tip: in the same simple way, you can decorate cones, houses, any New Year's crafts. Let the snow cover everything!

Method number 2 Northern Lights

We tear the masking tape or cut it into ribbons.

We glue them to the surface of the ball so that we get stripes.

Apply to the surface (silver and golden green). Then we smear the sparkles and remove the tape.

Then let the materials dry.

Method number 3 Coils of the holiday

Apply a small amount of modeling gel (golden) with your finger to the surface of the ball. We form curls in one movement, so that there are places where the gel has volume.

After drying (about five to ten minutes), we apply points with a contour. Dots are applied around each curl, following its line.

It remains to let the contours dry. Instead of the usual contour, you can safely use glitters.

Method number 4 Mother-of-pearl pattern

We protect the top and bottom of the ball with masking tape, leaving the entire side surface free.

Wrap tightly with a rubber napkin and apply modeling gel (golden) with a palette knife or spatula.

Carefully remove the stencil and then the tape. We leave to dry. The modeling gel dries long enough (2 to 12 hours depending on the layer thickness), so take your time to test it with your fingers.

Method number 5 Snowflakes

With blue (ceruleum) and white (titanium white) paint for painting (we use it here because of its characteristic velvety-matt surface of the paint layer), using a sponge and the tampon technique, we repaint the ball.

Let it dry and now the contours with sparkles go to work. Draw lines on the side surface of the ball with silver-blue and silver glitters. And between them there are snowflakes.

When light hits, the ball itself, thanks to the paint for painting, will be matte, and the snowflakes against this background are especially shiny.

Having in your arsenal ordinary plastic balls, several contours to them, a jar of modeling gel and acrylic paint, you can create your own unique series of decorations for the holiday! It's very simple and fun. Inspiration and good mood for you!

Christmas balls created by their own hands, parents and children are not just symbols of celebration, but inexhaustible sources of precious memories that will live as long as the toys themselves. Each such ball is a real work of art, into which a piece of the creator's soul is invested. Therefore, their value is incredibly high. We invite you to familiarize yourself with a selection of interesting and unusual ideas that will prompt, how can you decorate Christmas balls with your own hands for 2017.

How to make Christmas balls with your own hands?

Making Christmas balls at home today will not be a problem. Craft and craft stores provide a wide range of decorative items, as well as special blanks that can be used as a basis for future toys.

DIY Christmas balls from thread and glue

You can create original Christmas balls with your own hands from threads and glue. To do this, you will need the following materials:

  • balloons;
  • decorative threads (preferably dense);
  • PVA glue;
  • container for glue;
  • needle;
  • scissors.

Consider how to make balls from threads with your own hands step by step.

1. First inflate Balloon to the required size and tie it tightly. To give the ball a rounded shape, it is recommended to wrinkle it slightly. Next, you need to insert the thread chosen for decoration into the needle, pierce it near the bottom of the plastic container taken under the glue. After the thread should be passed through the container and poured into the last glue.

Attention! To make the ball durable and not lose its appearance, it is not recommended to dilute the glue with water.

2. Next, the thread must be impregnated with glue. To do this, it should be pulled through a container filled with PVA. Immediately, it is wound on balloon- the basis. While the thread is winding, the ball should be turned very vigorously. Since the balloon will be removed from the inside at the end of the procedure, the winding should be done not very tight in the place where it is tied. It is better to leave a small free space at the bottom.

3. When the ball is as tight as you intended, you need to cut the thread, but leave a small tail so that you can form a loop later.

4. It is recommended to put such a ball in a dry place for a while until it is completely dry. If you don't want to wait, you can use a hairdryer and speed up the drying process of the toy. It only takes 5 to 10 minutes. When the threads are completely dry, you can pierce the base balloon with a needle and pull it out from the inside of the toy in the place where the tie was, but very carefully so as not to damage the created beauty. From the tail of the thread, you need to make a loop and you can decorate the Christmas tree.

DIY Christmas balls from ribbons

DIY Christmas balls from ribbons look fascinating. To make them, you must have the following set of materials in your arsenal:

  • satin ribbons of two colors: one - about 2.5 cm wide and about 3 m long, and the second - a little narrower, about 1 m long;
  • ball blank;
  • wire;
  • awl;
  • beads and sequins;
  • thermal recorder;
  • thread for the eyelet.

Important! Since the base will not be removed from the finished ball, inexpensive lightweight foam blanks can be used.

You should also start forming a loop for hanging a future toy. To do this, mark the middle on the blank for the ball and pierce it through with an awl on both sides. A wire with a bead fixed on top should be passed through the punctures.

From the ribbons, you need to form petals, make a flower out of them, collect on a string and glue to the ball so that the wire is in the center of the flower. Attach a decoration on top and create a top. From it you need to move down and glue the petals from the ribbons, alternating colors, for example:

  1. in the first row: two white, two red, two white, two red;
  2. in the second row: one white, three red, one white, three red;
  3. in the third row, you need to increase the number of petals: two white, six red, two white, six red.

Next, you need to glue the petals without adding until they become too tightly adjacent to each other. At this moment, you will need to reduce their number to the original (that is, to eight) and glue them to the end.

To make the ball more magnificent, it is necessary to make more petals in the first row - not eight, but ten.

DIY paper balls

For lovers of openwork products, an interesting way to make New Year's toys can be a paper version. Such Christmas balls will be in harmony with any interior, and it will not take much time to make them.

First you need to prepare:

  • dense colored paper(A4);
  • knife designed for artistic cutting;
  • threads;
  • a needle;
  • scissors;
  • glue;
  • beads;
  • openwork patterns.

1. The selected templates are printed on the paper. Their size can be adjusted according to the paper size and personal preference. Next, the templates must be carefully cut. To do this, you should use a knife for art cutting.

If there is a fear that the drawing will be erased in the process of work, you can cover it with a paper sheet.

2. When the pattern is cut, you should start cutting the ball sweep.

3. With the help of a round pencil it is necessary to give the scheme a rounded shape. You need to pierce holes at the tip of the petals.

6. Then create a bead loop. To this end, they must be strung on a thread and pulled inward through the holes that were previously made in each petal.

6. The final touch is to create a hanging loop. And the ball is ready to decorate the Christmas tree.

DIY styrofoam ball

Foam balls are available in a variety of designs. Blanks from this material are selected as a basis for future christmas decorations... Such balls are decorated with colorful pieces of felt, sequins, paper flowers, beads, threads, etc.

As one of the ways to create original decoration from the foam on the herringbone, you can consider the "ball-cake". To make such an appetizing decor element, you will need:

  • ball-shaped foam blank;
  • PVA glue;
  • fine white sequins;
  • a thread;
  • scissors;
  • bead of red color.

To begin with, the foam spherical blank must be liberally coated with glue. Then it must be lowered into a container with pre-poured small sparkles and carefully rolled in them so that there are no missing spots. Then you need to let the ball dry thoroughly.

After final drying with a cloth or corrugated paper you can form a beautiful skirt - a wrapper for the cake, which can be attached from below. A red cherry bead should be glued to the top of the resulting decorative delicacy. The final step is to form the thread suspension onto the styrofoam ball.

DIY Christmas balls - decoupage

Decoupage is considered an interesting variety of modern decor. This art can be used to create Christmas balls.

This requires a set of tools and materials, consisting of:

  • plastic balls (about 8 cm in diameter);
  • napkins with New Year's drawings;
  • multi-colored acrylic paints;
  • brushes;
  • PVA glue;
  • acrylic varnish;
  • semolina;
  • sequin;
  • dishwashing sponges;
  • boards for modeling;
  • contours for working with ceramics and glass.

A small amount of white acrylic paint should be put on the board, dipped in a sponge and applied to the ball using point movements.

Important! It is recommended to carefully monitor that the sponge is evenly and well impregnated with paint. Otherwise, do-it-yourself decoupage of Christmas balls will be spoiled by the visual effect of the presence of a snow deposit on their surface.

So it is necessary to paint all the balls that are planned to be decorated. While they are drying (about an hour), you should start preparing the napkins. The upper painted layer must be separated from the lower one and the New Year's drawing must be carefully cut out. Next, the glue should be diluted with water in a 50/50 ratio. The cut out drawing must be moistened in an adhesive solution and attached to the ball. It is recommended to start the process of gluing it from the middle, moving smoothly to the edges.

And then around the pasted picture, you need to create a background of the corresponding color. To do this, the acrylic paint must again be laid out on the board and, using a sponge, applied on top of the white background on the ball. After this procedure, the Christmas tree toys should be left in a dry place until they dry completely, and then completely cover their surface with acrylic varnish.

You can create a snow effect like this: mix white paint with semolina (you should get a thick mushy consistency) and apply with a thin brush to those places of the ball where the snow should lie. When the snow is dry, you can decorate it with silver sparkles, which must be applied to the surface previously coated with varnish. A loop is made with a thread, and the creative process is completed.
