Interior decoration

It has been considered the most popular flower for a long time. Therefore, it is extremely pity to throw it away, and it is not necessary. After all, there is a great way not to lose natural beauty. There are several options for maintaining the correct color and shape of flowers. We will consider each step by step, and you can easily choose the one that is closer to you.

You can dry roses in this way:

  1. Herbarium.
  2. Sand option.
  3. Hanging on a rope.

Herbarium.

This option is not suitable for drying while maintaining the shape of the flower, since it involves drying under a press (for example, in books). In this case, there can be no question of maintaining the shape, and the color palette is very distorted.

Sand option.

This method is pretty simple. All you have to do is:

  • after careful examination, place the flowers in a spacious container. It is best to use a wood box or cardboard box;
  • heat the sand - fry in a pan or bake in the oven;
  • then sift it with a sieve;
  • after that, fill in the sand, the layer thickness of which should be about five to seven centimeters;
  • stick a rose in the sand with its bud up (like a bouquet is in a vase);

Rose in the sand

  • carefully add the rest of the sand, the flowers must be completely filled up. Make sure that the plant remains upright;
  • close the container and place it in a room where it is dry and dark (you can use the space in the closet);
  • leave for two to three weeks;
  • then pour out the sand. To do this, make several holes from the bottom so that it spills out of the box by itself. Don't dig up roses. Due to fragility, the buds can be easily damaged.

The dried rose is ready for further use. It is best to use sand from the river or one that is made for chinchillas. It is easy to find it in any pet store. To give the dried rose brightness and strength, you can treat it with hairspray. This will also protect it from moisture.

Hanging on a rope.

This option is more laborious, but, nevertheless, it will be possible to save each petal. You must do the following:

  • cut roses to the desired length and examine them well;
  • it is better to remove the leaves from below;
  • to pull the ropes in a room where it is always dry, but there is no sunlight. The main condition that is mandatory for this method is darkness, because the sun will make the plants fragile, their color will become dark, the petals will curl and will not stick together;
  • tie each stem with a rope so that the roses are at a short distance from each other, as shown in the photo. It is strictly forbidden to create a bouquet - due to insufficient ventilation, the roses will simply rot and disappear;

Placing flowers on a rope

  • drying takes about two weeks. If the color suddenly changes, the bud can be "tinted" with nail polish.

Rope Dried Rose

There is another option that professional florists use. Each plant is treated with a special substance - silica gel. It has a free-flowing powder structure that absorbs moisture well.

It should be noted that its use requires special knowledge and skills. Otherwise, you will completely destroy your roses. Therefore, this method cannot be offered as a homemade one.

In order for the flowers to be well preserved and delight you with their beauty, you need to choose them correctly. Simple recommendations will help you choose only roses that are suitable for such a case.

  1. In order for the roses to withstand drying perfectly, take only freshly cut plants. Indeed, in flowers that have stood for some time, the processes of wilting are already beginning.
  2. Cut flowers in good dry weather. The fact is that under other weather conditions, droplets of moisture can get on the buds, which negatively affects the drying process.
  3. Choose flowers that have the densest petals. Such buds will keep their original shape even after drying.
  4. Fully loose buds are not suitable for drying. If you use them, then the end result is flowers that will decay.
