How to dry a rose

Have you been given roses? Do not rush to throw them away as soon as the bouquet withers. After all, roses can be made a wonderful decoration for the interior, having previously dried them.

Roses can be dried in two ways: with hairspray and in the microwave.

Drying with hair spray

1. Buy roses of any color, preferably black, red or purple. The more there are, the better. The bouquet will turn out to be large and beautiful. (skip this item if you have already received a bouquet)

2. Wait for the moment when they start to fade.

3. Make sure the rose petals have not fallen yet.

4. Remove all leaves from the bottom of the stems.

5. Take at least 4-5 roses to dry.

6. Choose a warm place to dry the flowers. For this, a solar window sill or battery is quite suitable. Stretch the string here. Fix each rose on it with a separate rope or thread by the stem, hanging it down with a flower.

7. Sprinkle the flowers with varnish. Wait for the roses to dry completely, this may take a long time.

8. Remove the roses from the ropes and put them together.

9. Place them in the vase and place the vase in the center of the table.

Microwave drying roses

Microwaving roses is much better because it takes less time.

1. First, place a 5 cm layer of silica gel on the bottom of the microwave-safe container.

2. Remove the leaves from the bottom of the rose stems. Place the roses on top of the silica gel so that they do not touch each other.

3.Cover the top of the rose again with silica gel and make sure that the flowers do not flatten.

4. The container does not need to be closed with a lid. Place it in the microwave and set the temperature 2 levels higher than the defrost temperature. Set a timer for 2 minutes. After this time, check if the roses are dry. If not, put them in the oven for another 2 minutes. If after this they do not dry out, increase the temperature.

5. After the roses are dry, close the container loosely with the lid, leaving a small crack for air to circulate. Leave the container to cool at room temperature for 24 hours. Then take the roses out of the container and peel them completely of silica gel.

Flowers dried in similar ways can be used not only for home decoration, but also for creativity.
