Animal masks. DIY goat, goat or kid mask

Which masks are the easiest to come up with? Most likely, the masks are of animals whose faces resemble the proportions of a human face. For example, a cat (unlike most other animals) has close eyes and a short nose. Accordingly, it’s easier to come up with. But coming up with a “style” for an ungulate mask is much more difficult. The hoofed eyes are set wide apart, the line of the nose continues the line of the forehead, the length of the muzzle is much greater than the width. In general, the shape of the ungulate skull is very different in shape from the shape of the human skull. So any mask of an ungulate animal very roughly resembles the real face of an ungulate animal.

Let’s take, for example, a sheep or goat mask (I highly recommend reading the article:), made like a visor. This mask looks convincing, but creates inconvenience for the actor by putting pressure on the nose. Therefore, it is necessary to build in the bend of the bridge of the nose. Let's try to make a sheep mask, because next year, 2015, will be the year of the sheep. The demand for masks gives rise to supply, and here is our offer dedicated to the New Year. Our mask looks real.

Sheep mask

Usually I make a mask, and, making sure that it turned out well, I take it apart and rightfully offer readers a pattern. Here the details of the goat-sheep mask pattern are shown in comparison with a standard sheet of A4 cardboard:

Sheep (goat) mask pattern

The eye holes should be cut larger, since when making (pinching with a stapler - read about this) folds on the bridge of the nose, the distance between the eyes increases, and the eyes themselves decrease. We make slits from the temples to the corners of the eyes and glue narrow triangular inserts into them: this is necessary so that the mask gains volume and its nose moves forward slightly. This way he won’t put pressure on the actor’s nose, but he won’t protrude too sharply. We wrap the nostrils cut out at the end of the muzzle inward and glue them together with a small triangular piece - the nose takes on a sheep-goat appearance.

The ears of goats and sheep stick out to the sides; so that they too become voluminous, cut the dart, slightly bring its edges one after the other and glue them together. Let's attach them to the mask approximately where a person would have temples, and make eyelids with eyelashes for the eyes. Cut out the crescents of the eyelids, cut along the lower edge and bend the fringe of the eyelashes upward. We will make shallow cuts on the upper edge of the eyelids, bend the resulting “flaps” and use them to glue the eyelids above the eyes. Here is a simple and easy-to-wear sheep mask that you can make with your own hands from paper or cardboard. It is best to attach it to your head using an elastic band threaded through the holes cut at the temples. This sheep can be easily converted into a goat mask. Let's just attach the long horns.

Are you going to prepare your child for the New Year holiday or just for a performance? Or maybe you are going to attend a themed party or Halloween party? Then it is quite possible that you will have to find a suitable costume for yourself or your child. In this article we will talk about how to create a goat mask. Making this interesting costume element is quite simple. There are several options for creating this mask, and we will look at only a few of them.

The simplest paper goat mask

If you have absolutely no time or simply don’t have the material, then you can make a goat mask from plain paper and colored pencils. It is best to use thick paper, otherwise the mask will quickly wrinkle. First draw the goat's head on paper. An ordinary sheet measuring twenty by thirty centimeters is quite suitable for this. Then color the head black and white or brown and white. Outline the nose and eye contours. Then cut out the mask, leaving slits for the eyes. Glue strings on both sides of the mask, with which you can secure the mask on your or your child’s head. By the way, the ropes can be replaced with a simple elastic band. If you made a mask from plain thin paper, then it is better to stick it on cardboard.

Like felt goats

The mask will look a little nicer. But it will cost more than a product made from plain paper. You will need gray, pink and white felt, a needle, an elastic band, white and black threads. Also, buy sharp scissors.

First, draw a template of the goat's face, nose, and ears on paper. Cut them out. Then use these templates to cut out the goat's white face, pink nose, and white ears. For the horns, prepare two triangular gray pieces of felt. If you want the mask to be rigid, you will have to glue the felt onto the cardboard. In addition, to prevent the goat mask from becoming wrinkled, it is better to buy hard felt three to four millimeters thick. Sew the nose and ears to the goat's head. Form horns from gray triangular pieces of felt and also sew them to the head. Then use black threads to make large eyelashes. Take an elastic band (preferably black) and sew a small piece to the back of the mask. Don't forget to measure the required length of the elastic in advance. Now you know how to make a goat's head.

Mask made of polymer clay and other materials

If you are not satisfied with the previous options, then you can make a mask from more expensive materials - polymer clay, real wool and acrylic paints. In addition, you will have to find real animal horns. First, purchase polymer clay. One mask will take approximately three hundred to four hundred grams of plastic. If you don't find real goat horns, you will have to sculpt them from clay. And then you will need about twice as much material.

First, make the mask of the goat itself. You must pay attention not only to the front side, but also to the inside, since it is this that will be directly adjacent to your face. Wool can be drawn with a needle or toothpick. After you have made the mask, you need to bake it in the oven. Baking such a large product will take about half an hour, or even a whole hour. Then let the mask cool in the oven. Do not take it out ahead of time, otherwise it may break. Next, use small pieces of clay to stick the horns and bake again. Let the product cool and remove it from the oven. Then tint the furrows with acrylic paint - black, white or brown. Then use glue to attach the wool to the mask. If desired, the mask can be varnished.

A simpler option

If you don't want to waste a lot of polymer clay, you can make a mask out of papier mache. This is the most inexpensive option. First, you will need to make a model of a mask from simple plasticine, then paste it with pieces of paper and PVA glue. You need to make several layers - from three to ten. The number of layers depends on the thickness of the paper. Once dry, let the mask dry and then sand it gently. Take out all the plasticine and paint the mask with acrylic paints. The product is ready! If desired, it can be varnished.

Goat head mask made from a real skull

Anyone who loves everything unusual, beautiful and inexpensive can try making a mask from a real goat skull. You will have to order an animal skull from people who do taxidermy. When ordering, you will have to clarify for what purpose such an item is being purchased. Then the skull vault itself will be cleaned out so that your head can fit into it. Of course, such a product will be very expensive. Please note that the size must be selected immediately. Goats generally have small heads and finding a skull that fits will be difficult. Moreover, such a goat mask can also be used as an unusual piece of furniture.

So you have learned how to make a goat mask with your own hands. We hope that our article was useful for you, and you can easily make yourself this attribute for the holiday.

simply necessary in families with small children. Such masks will be useful for the New Year, and for a birthday, and for a children's performance.

This spring, our youngest daughter took part in a children's play. She was the Goat. Since the New Year celebrations were over, we had a problem with buying a suit. We had to make the costume ourselves. Our daughter is a lover of complete transformation, and therefore she needed a goat mask.

Here's the best goat mask we've found. I printed out a picture from the computer, pasted it on cardboard and inserted an elastic band to attach it to my head.

We had cats, dogs, bears, hares, and mice.

The children put on animal masks and put on a fun performance.

Our bunny jumped, skipped and gnawed carrots :)

The dog barked and looked for hidden treasures.

The mouse gnawed cheese and crackers and teased the cat.

The cat tried to make friends with the mouse.

The bear cub climbed the rope like a tree, getting “honey” from the hive.

Regarding this mask, neither children nor adults came to a common opinion. For some it was a cat mask, for others a puma or a tiger. And one girl saw a fox in this mask :)

The guests took some of the masks, and some remained at our home. And periodically, my daughter puts it on herself mask some animal and gives us a home show.

How to do fabric goat hat:

To do this you will need fleece fabric for hats, brown fabric and cardboard egg carton mold for the cones and lining fabric for the lining

Draw and cut out the pattern. Option for 4-7 years

Cut out the front and back of the fleece hats and ears - 4 parts(2 for each ear)

Sew the ears on both sides and turn them inside out. Then we sew the front and back parts along the top, inserting ears with folded edges into the seam to create folds. Next, cut out the front and back pieces from the lining fabric and sew the lining. Insert the lining into hat and sew the bottom

For the horns, cut out a cap from an egg package approximately 3-3.5 cm high. You can make a cut on it and roll it so that the base of the cap becomes narrower and fasten it with a stapler. Cut 2 semicircles from brown fabric for the top of the horns

Sew semicircles along the radii and turn them inside out. You will get a small cap.

We insert the cardboard cap into the fabric one and bend the edges inward.

We do the second one in the same way.

Sew the caps to cap this way:

If desired, you can make an elastic band - a cord under the chin.

How to make a baby goat mask with your own hands?

The New Year is approaching and according to the eastern calendar it will be the year of the goat or sheep. So. What conclusions follow from this? And these: New Year's performances will most likely be based on fairy tales about goats, goats and rams. And everyone will urgently need masks. I already have an article, . But on the eve of special holidays, we need to get creative and come up with more models of masks - to suit every taste.

I have already made new models of the sheep, goat (I got a real goat) and goat masks and will soon tell you HOW. I’ll show you this to get you interested:

And today a short article - how to make a baby goat mask.

Most likely, you will need a kid's mask for a fairy tale about seven kids - there will be many actors, and they will be kids. In this case, you should focus on masks that are easy to make and do not cover your face too much.

Universal flat goat-kitten-mouse mask.

What are the options for baby goat masks on the Internet?

A cap-type mask with an animal face on top of the actor’s head may be touching, but it’s completely unconvincing. I also do not recommend the common option - a flat half mask. Well, you know, we print out the picture, make slits for the eyes - pretend the baby is a little goat. Honestly, the simplicity of such masks does not compensate for the inconvenience of use, since the nose is level with the cheeks.

Therefore, I propose a super-simple but voluminous half mask made of paper or cardboard. Looks like that:

Baby goat half mask

Here it should be noted that goats, like other ungulates, have very wide-set eyes, the bridge of the nose is wide, and the structure of a kid’s muzzle is not similar to that of a human or (the muzzle of a predatory animal). Let's try to keep it specific:

Here is the pattern, I show the size in relation to a standard A4 sheet.
